Why would it get flak and what's wrong with self promotion? As long as people aren annoying as fuck about it *cough^* , it shouldn't an issue. Also this is a music website is it not? What makes user-based projects any less legit than big time bands?

I just kind of thought there might be an unspoken rule against as it could be construed as maybe misusing your power to make articles and such. Doesn't bother me really but it surprised me that someone else wasn't upset about it. I guess if a number of people do it then it's fair game then.

I get where you're coming from in a way, but at the end of the day this a music site. Also I would rather see a user based project article than half the articles that get posted here anyway.

i rlly want to like snide cause a lot of times he comes off as a nice enough guy but whenever he says something really fucking stupid i just hate him with all of my heart

i dont see what made snides article more annoying than any other article. people just bitched about it because it was snide

im working with him cause we both love making music and we both have ideas that work with one another so yea why the fuck not. hes a cool guy he just has really questionable taste sometimes

He's not horrible, but his ego make him intolerable sometimes.

i mean i prefer someone stick to their guns about their taste than flock to other "elite" users taste like little sheep

Agreed, and in that aspect, I *somewhat* respect snide even if I don't agree with the opinion. My only problem is that he is REALLY self-centered. I mean he promotes his own reviews, in his own lists... what the hell is that? That's my main problem with him.
