Linkin Park reach new deal 2005-12-29 by Med57 EMERITUS | 2 Comments | According to the New York Times, Linkin Park have struck a deal with Warner Bros. Records that gives them a $15 million advance on their as-yet untitled new album, as well as giving the label an option for up to 5 more albums from the band. The deal comes after an acrimonious disagreement between the band and their label, which began earlier this year after the band sought a cut of the then upcoming stock offering from Warner Bros. Records.
Although no acts on the Warner Brothers roster recieved a cut of the stock offering, the band demanded to be released from their contract in May, saying that it was unacceptable that they would not recieve a cut. The news that the disagreements seem to have been resolved will come as a relief to Linkin Park fans, who have been waiting for new material since the release of the poorly recieved "Meteroa".
