Slayer+Manson=Summer Tour

2007-03-26 by CoRpSeSlAyEr | 24 Comments
SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON have announced that they will co-headline a North American major-market summer tour beginning on July 25 on the East Coast. Plans are for the tour to play some twenty-five cities and wrap up early September on the West Coast. A full, confirmed schedule will be announced shortly. MANSON and SLAYER will each play full sets, and two support bands, yet to be determined, will open all shows.
Just prior to the American trek, both MANSON and SLAYER will be on tour throughout Europe, sharing the stage at three European festivals — the U.K.'s Download Festival at Donington (June 9), Greenfield Festival in Switzerland (June 15), and Sweden's Metaltown Festival (June 30).
MARILYN MANSON just wrapped up work on his upcoming June release to be titled, "Eat Me, Drink Me", which Rolling Stone magazine describes as "epic." Voted "Best Band in the World" by Kerrang! magazine, the army of noise behind Manson's bitterness is at once raw and massive when witnessing him live— "rousing the crowd with focuses ardor," states the New York Times.
Celebrating their 26th year together, the always-uncompromising SLAYER was just named "Best Live Band" in SPIN's 2006 Readers Poll, and picked up their first Grammy Award last month for "Best Metal Performance." Their latest album, "Christ Illusion" — which debuted at #5 on Billboard's album chart — takes on the U.S. government about the war in Iraq, prompting one newspaper to speculate, "If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he undoubtedly would be listening to SLAYER."

A lot of people, because I'm willing to bet that he sells out just about every show.

True, but remember, it wouldn't be 25 cities if they went to Europe too it would probably be something like 10...but i haven't seen a US/Europe Tour from major acts in awhile where they go on both but maybe i just haven't been paying attention This Message Edited On 03.27.07This Message Edited On 03.27.07

Hey, don't complain about this tour not coming to Europe, because Europe gets all of the cool tours. Europe gets all of the cool festivals and black metal bands tour Europe a hell of a lot more there than in the U.S. So don't complain.

If that was directed towards me, i wasn't complaining, doomfreyja was but you are right, since rammstein was banned from playing in the US, i have been envious of those in England since i dont speak any of the other languages in all the European countries

Yeah it will, you never see metal festivals/shows like this in the U.S. The only really big metal show the U.S. has is Ozzfest and that has kind of gone down the drain in the past couple of years.

whoa that looks like an awesome set, oh and rammstein is banned from playing in the U.S because of several things such as their antics on stage, the lead singer performing while on fire, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwE9iKVc9kE

and i believe he had a phallus filled with liquid which he sprayed onto the audience, i guess to stimulate urinating on them...have you seen that movie XXX with Vin Diesel? that's rammstein playing in that concert, the stuff like breathing fire into the air, they would do that over here and since the U.S has strict laws on pyrotechnics in concerts (firehazards) but it's various things like that.

That's ridiculous! Just because of that? That's almost as dumb as Germany banning Cannibal Corpse's first three albums all together. They can"t sell those albums and they can't play any of those songs live in concert. This law might have been uplifted, but i am not sure. By the way, some guy in Korea was inprisoned for just sellig a Cannibal Corpse record. (just a little side note).

Well Kim Jong Ill is a little crazy so i'm not suprised

But the thing is i'm not sure because i've read something where they were banned from certain venues, and not the country itself or that some of the members simply dont like the U.S (E.G: the song 'Amerika') But I do know that MTV has banned anything rammstein, which is good because i hate MTV and it's "summer all year long attitude" If I'm ever in New York i'm going to throw a water balloon filled with paint at the host of TRL if I see him on the street....oh god what a rant!
