"band plans to release new album 2 years after previous one"
|
| |
If its not a "return to their roots" they are done. The 2nd Law was the worst pile of garbage.
|
| |
Hopefully the bassist writes some more good songs to contrast the rest which will be shit
|
| |
It will not be a return to their roots.
|
| |
attempt to return to their roots, but will fail just like every other band who put out 2 shit albums in a row and claims that the next will be a return to their roots****
|
| |
i doubt they will
|
| |
hopefully they realized by now how horrible their last two have been
|
| |
haha not a return to form
|
| |
I want another Absolution meets Black Holes and Revelations kinda album or I am done with this band
|
| |
If its like anything they did from 2000-2006 I am very happy.
|
| |
"album will be a return to their roots"
plz do it good
|
| |
"Our next album will be terrible."
The only detail for which I was looking.
|
| |
muse is boring. girls who like muse are boring too.
|
| |
comment of the century my friend
|
| |
Man every friggin band these days says their new album will be a return to roots.
I call it a bunch of crap.
|
| |
Then you'll really enjoy it, won't ya Bloc?
|
| |
the roots > muse
|
| |
Fingers crossed!
|
| |
diarrhea > muse
|
| |
a shit after a hot pepper eating contest > muse
|
| |
a shit after a hot pepper eating contest by a truck driver directly into your ear canal > muse
|
| |
Sputnik general consensus > muse
|

break up please
|

break up please[2]

Muse gets to drop 7 massive turds on the world yet we only get one American Football record what the fuck
|
| |
we got more than one american football record
|
| |
How are any of their first 4 records "massive turds"?
|
| |
OOS and BHAR are pretty good... that's about it
|
| |
Why are you only defending the first four if The Resistance is your favourite?
|
| |
I feel like this won't actually be a return to their roots
I've been lied to by bands before
|
| |
Finally, though it's unlikely they'll live up to Origin and Absolution. I'm thinking they have a chance of coming out with something on par with Black Holes perhaps.
|
| |
if this is like actually a return to their roots this is going to rule
|
| |
I'm with Sowing on this. I'll believe it when (or more appropriately, if) I see it.
|
| |
"Muse gets to drop 7 massive turds on the world yet we only get one American Football record what the fuck"
^^^^^ This so hard x10000
|
| |
return to roots yeah right kiss my ass
if it's really one then i'll be stoked
but i'm not believing em
|
| |
It would be a miracle if they are still able to craft an album that compares to Origin of Symmetry or Absolution.
|
| |
gunna suck
|
| |
Yeah bands lie a lot
|
| |
Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma- doubt it
|
| |
you cynical fucks
|
| |
"Returning to the roots" never works out right. Matt Bellamy will just write some ridiculous crap and say "yeah that sounds like something I would have written 10 years ago."
|
| |
I hope ?uestlove puts a couple of hella sick verses on dis new muse shit, The Roots man
|
| |
so they are leaving out the dubstep bullshit in this one?
|
| |
Worst album of 2015 confirmed
|
| |
Generally a band "returning to their roots" sounds desperate and self-nostalgic if you know what I mean, there'll probably be a bit more distorted bass on this new LP and a song that sounds *exactly* like New Born or something, other than that the same recent Queen-space-opera fluff
|
| |
will suck the big dick
|
| |
massif
|
| |
It better be a return to their roots, another 2nd Law and I'll be really ticked off
|
| |
They should just put 9 tracks of Plug In Baby but remixed by 9 different dubstep artists.
I would 5 it.
|
| |
Watch this rule
|
| |
probably gonna suck but as long as it's better than the 2nd law and the resistance ill be happy
|
| |
Yeah, what's with the extreme pessimism itt? I for one am stoked about this news
|
| |
I really enjoy Muse and have traveled to see them in Europe. I'm sure it'll be great.
|
| |
Their last two albums were fucking awful. If I had to guess, I think I'd go with that.
|
| |
Resistance was bad. But I really enjoy T2L. It is really diverse and some trippy sounds are on it too.
|
| |
Oh ok
|
| |
Okay sputnik... I'm going to say this... whenever you all say that a band is "done" it is usually their most commercially successful album so I really fucking doubt they are going to do anything different when they will probably continue rolling in cash doing the same shit.
|
| |
People should stop being so pessimistic. I think that if they keep true to their word this album will be great.

Muse get too much hate on this site in my opinion. 2nd Law wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. I doubt they'll truly "return to their roots" though without putting some kind of weird spin on it.
|
| |
how many symphonies are gonna be on this one
|
| |
The hatred towards this band on Sputnik is hi-hi-hilarious
|
| |
Yeah, kind of surprised to see how unpopular they are here.
|
| |
Origin, Absolution, and Black Holes are all excellent albums. Showbiz and The Resistance aren't that
bad either, and 2nd Law is meh. I think they're just hated on here because they're mainstream rock, I
don't know anyone outside of Sput who dislike them.
|
| |
This should've been closed after the 4th comment.
They get so much hate because pretty much everyone who hates them now, loved them back when they released Showbiz and especially Origin Of Symmetry. I loved them since I heard Uno for the first time and Origin is still one of my all time favourite records. That makes them dropping the ball so hard and turning into such a shit band just so much more horrible, thus the hate.
|
| |
The 2nd Law was decent it just had a few "failed experiments" (Follow Me, both 2nd Law tracks) but other than that it wasn't that bad. I don't see why they can't come back after 1 meh album.
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
The hatred for The 2nd Law to me is hi-hi-hilarious on its own. Imagine Muse constantly churning out
copies of OoS. Fun, right? *cough*
I feel like most people but a big red "NO" over 2nd Law as soon as they heard dubstep in the trailer
(by the way, all of that is mostly guitar sound, look up the video footage from the recording
sessions). Did dubstep run over your dog a few years ago, or did your girl cheat on you with dubstep?
Seems like hating it is even "cooler" then loving it nowadays.
The "return to roots" promise barely plays out well and usually forsees mediocre derivative material.

Muse stands for More Useless Sh*t Everyone
Band hasn't done anything worthwhile in awhile.

People that angrily defend The 2nd Law are equal parts confusing and hilarious.
|
| |
Consistently great bands from the last 10 years.
Enslaved
Voyager
Virus
Sigh
Leprous
Phideaux
Nemo
Bands that were among the best in the world 6-10 years ago and (kind of) suck today.
Muse
Dead Letter Circus (6 track EP is lightyears ahead anything else they've done)
AFI
Carbon Based Lifeforms
Dredg

Substantiate it, oh the one who bears the name of a deadly disease for some doubtful shock value
|
| |
My fingers are crossed, even though I didn't hate The 2nd Law or The Resistance, but it'd be nice to hear them to do something like 'Ashamed' and 'Yes Please' again.
|
| |
They said in another interview that it would be like 'Agitated' and 'Yes Please'.
|
| |
Didn't they say this about the last album?
|
| |
Are you fucking kidding me that last album was the most derivative piece of shit ever
|
| |
"oh the one who bears the name of a deadly disease for some doubtful shock value"
swing and a miss. it's my nickname, not trying to be controversial.
|
| |
@ProfC No they didn't. Bellamy jokingly described it as a "christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, with some ambient
rebellious dubstep and face-melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia." So basically, a huge fucking mess of an album,
which is exactly what it was.
|
| |
@ProfC No they said the last album would be them experimenting with new sounds and it was exactly that.
|
| |
no shit how could the 2nd law be even close to their roots
|
| |
Please be good please be good please be good.
|
| |
"return to roots"
pfft heard that before
will listen anyway cause ima muse fanboy
|
| |
Same, The 2nd Law gets too much hate in my opinion.
|
| |
Will listen anyway cause ima muse fanboy [2]
Coincidentally, I was wearing my 2nd Law t-shirt earlier today. Not because I like the album that much or anything, I just think the artwork rules.
|
| |
fun fact: this band has always sucked
|
| |
always
|
| |
yeah 2nd Law is kind of bad :[

When I read all these comments, I've got the feeling there's so much testosterone in the air I just wonder if there is one girl registered to sputnik.
When I heard "Uno" back in the day I thought: "God that guy's voice is unbearable, he's trying so hard to sound emotional it's pathetic." Then I learnt that the world liked it when you pretend to feel and express something deep although you exaggerate it so much it's more of an insult than a tribute to emotions. Let's pretend we like someone who's got true deep emotions, maybe we'll pass for people who have true deep emotions.
|
| |
"Did dubstep run over your dog a few years ago, or did your girl cheat on you with dubstep?"
Can we just talk about the fact that these words were actually said in this thread?
|
| |
Actually, nothing was 'said' in this thread.
Idiot.
|

Good ETID song agreed

Good ETID song agreed
What a paradoxical thing to type.
|

"Did dubstep run over your dog a few years ago, or did your girl cheat on you with dubstep?"
Well, I kinda liked that part. I think it was well put and it brought some humor to an overly serious debate about nothing much.
|
| |
Band has never even slightly interested me
