I really liked this song, it sounds like one of the more aggresive songs from the last two albums, but Davey sounds really good and the production is great, really piqued my interest for the new album.

It's not hardcore/punk kind of agressive but it's definitely harsher than most of their material since Sing The Sorrow. It's a lot catchier than Crash Love IMO too

Disagree there, this is too simple to be be compared to most of that album (as much of a poppier change as it was); it's only a track, and like the new Avenged single will be better off when listened to with the rest of the album.

I without a doubt prefer nearly all of Crash Love to this (granted I love Crash Love), but this is still pretty cool. If anything I like the direction of this song more than the actual song, leading me to believe that this album will not disappoint.

It isn't really electronica they're utilizing here. Just because there's electronic instrumentation does not make it electronica. It seems closer to industrial in my opinion. This is the dark vibe that I consider synonymous with AFI, which was prominent on every record other than Crash Love. I dig the song and now I'm really pumped for whatever they have in store. Gotta say, though, after I watched the YouTube vid with this song, I rewatched Girls Not Grey. Does everyone agree that Davey Havok is one of the only dudes in music who can successfully pull off long as fuck hair? Dude looked badass.

I think people are praising it mostly because they didn't enjoy Crash Love or DU and they wanted a return to harder rock from AFI, which this is. Personally, I enjoyed Crash Love a lot, so this track wasn't instant love for me, but I though it was good over all and it has me interested in what the rest of the album will offer.

This was pretty cool. I enjoyed Crash Love but something tells me I might like this album more.

I'll have to listen to this a few more times, seeing as my negative opinion is in the minority. To me though, it appears that everyone is excited that this is "darker" than Crash Love without any true regard to the technical and creative weaknesses of the song.

Sounds like the band re-discovered where their balls were, which were right underneath the Sing the Sorrow masters. Really enjoyed the song itself, & Havok sounds refreshed.

The lyrics? Well... they read like a DU / Crash Love gag reflex. Borrow somebody's thesaurus & dictionary, Havok. Greg Graffin gives them out for free, for fucks sake.

I might actually buy another AFI album again if the reviews don't burn it to the ground.

Strange that you would tell Havok to borrow a dictionary or thesaurus considering his vocabulary heavy lyrics in the past. The guy is articulate and well with words, but it doesn't mean he needs to be to get his story or point across. The song conveys more raw emotion and the simple lyrics convey that as necessary.

As for being hard to please: lols, argofuckyourself. There are two (probably more) types of fans: listeners, & investors,
the latter which pay for their music to listen to. If you invest time, money, & effort (via listening, going through the
trouble of buying, & then promoting or supporting the band in other social ways), you have every right to bitch about a
band releasing bullshit like "Miss Murder".

If I think a given band's albums suck and were only put out to justify touring (such as AFI's past two "efforts"), I won't buy
them, but someone else will. The world is indifferent, & keeps turning.

I'm surprised you're the only person to mention Deftones in this thread. The verse is very Deftones-ish (like a cover of "RX Queen" done by Trent Reznor), which is probably why I really enjoyed this.
