My Chemical Romance have confirmed that they will be releasing Conventional Weapons in the form of two songs a month for five months. These songs were written and recorded during the pre-sessions for Danger Days.

More information on track listing will be coming next week, but you can read a very detailed blog from Frank Iero (guitar) in the link bellow.

I remember I heard some live videos of "new songs" from a while ago but none of them ever made it to the album..

I actually don't mind this band as much as everyone on here. In any case, it'll be interesting to listen to the midway point between Black Parade and Danger Days.

Not a fan of Danger Days, but I do enjoy most of their older work. I look forward to hearing what they release

Could be promising, if it's anything like their cover of Desolation Row then I'll be happy.

Are these B sides or the songs they shelved?

Why don't they release a new album if they're releasing two new songs per month for 5 months? Logic, anyone?

The band sucks. The singer is truly horrible. . . So annoying.

they should've released this from the get go instead of scrapping it for the good but inconsistent album that was danger days. [2]

I actually think they have written some good pop songs, but if the singer wasn't singing them maybe i'd like em.

It's funny how the vocalist looks like a San Fransisco stereotypical local, but in actuality he's married and has a daughter.

How was danger days not pop punk

If I call it pop punk it's easier to claim some of the tracks are just bad because of the genre

I hated the Black Parade, such generic shit coming from a band capable of much more. Danger Days was just eh. Can't believe its the same band that wrote "It's Not A Fashion Statement"

although i could prolly name a lot of albums that sound like the black parade, but it obviously has its own unique sound as well. regardless of originality, it's still far and away the best thing mcr has done if you ask me.

I didn't mean it that way, not like its unoriginal. But its boring for them. I used to like This Is How I Disappear, but the album doesnt stand up to its predecessors for me.

Gerard seemed very influenced by Freddie Mercury on the Black Parade, especially his theatrics

I could have sworn Gerard Way came out as being gay like two years ago or something and now I find out he's married. This is uncomfortable.

This will be lame if MCR are still trying to do the emo thing. I would like to see a little bit more of a mature sound from them

I'm actually pretty excited for this. I enjoyed both Danger Days and Black Parade (better than their first two, at least). It'll be cool hearing what came in between.

well there are some videos were they played some of this songs at the roxy, and they sound fucking rad, one of them "Death Before Disco" later became "Party Poison" on danger days but it doesn't sound half as good as it did on the roxy. Some of the other songs they played that night were tentatively titled "Hail the King" and "The Drugs"

Here's one of 'em http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA4ahfRYmas

Three Cheers is still an amazing album and The Black Parade was pretty huge in '06. I'm only into Danger Days because I've been listening to them since I was a kid but even I can't really listen to it the whole way through that much. These songs should prove to be interesting, I guess. I'm kind of hoping this is all to tide their fans over while they make some new music - something in the vein of Bullets or Three Cheers.

I agree, doing the blacker parade would be like Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown I just don't see it as a good idea, and the band has stated the will never make the same record twice

To clarify from a question someone had above: These are not b-sides, these were songs that were set to
be released on a full length album but the band was not happy with it at the time and decided to start
all over with new material (Danger Days)

Also, this is NOT the new album, they are recording a new album as well as releasing these songs that
have nothing to do with the future album release. These songs were recorded in the time between Black
Parade finishing and Danger Days starting.

I hope Stay is one of the songs on it, they played it live at the NJ show on The Black Parade is Dead.

my expectations aren't too high, since the mad gear and missile kid EP was, i assume, their best material from this pre-danger days album and it wasn't that great. still looking forward to it, though.

I'm extremely excited for this, as it is basically a way to hold us over until their fifth studio album. I'm looking forward to hearing Desolation Row-era songs, because I think they had some serious potential going down that road. I'm a huge MCR fan and love everything they do, but I admit that Danger Days could have been better (still loved it, though). This will be an exciting thing to see an album that could've become Danger Days, and I'm looking forward to it thoroughly.

These songs aren't Danger Days b-sides or songs that didn't make the album. They started writing these songs, and like Frank said he likes them, but it didn't feel right to release them at the time so they did the new album in a different direction

I think these guys have learned what direction they should take for their sound, considering that I feel that this release is a means to test the waters and experiment with some new material with people before trying to go for a new album entirely.
