Amy Lee: 'I Love Scoring.' 2007-01-11 by Jom | 12 Comments | Amy Lee of Evanescence fame does not envision touring for the rest of her life, saying that being in a rock band is "pretty weird most of the time, [and] I get tired of touring and want to go back and write. It's those two extremes that I get tired of. I'm not doing this forever."
Lee told Launch that she has other ambitions in life, including writing and arranging different times of music:
I want to move on into other fields later in life, definitely, but I'm not there yet. I would love to do musical scores for movies. I love scoring [Editor's note from Beavis and Butt-Head: heh, heh heh heh, heh], so I'd love to do that. That would be fun. Like, if I ever wanna, like, when I'm old, be a mom and work at home, like, it'd be so awesome to just have a studio in my house and just work on scoring stuff. Not have to tour.
Like, okay!!1
The other good news for the frontwoman is that she recently got engaged to her boyfriend of one year, a therapist [Note from SNL's version of Sean Connery: 'the rapist for twenty'] named Josh. The two have reportedly been lifelong friends.
We here at Sputnikmusic, besides needing TP for our bungholes, are sure that that was the final nail in the coffin Shaun Morgan of Seether - Lee's ex - as if "Call Me When You're Sober" wasn't bad enough.
Story comes courtesy of Launch, with some always-unnecessary Sputnikmusic twists.

| | | but that's okay cuz i've got no self-esteem
| | | this made me lol
| | | the last comment made me lol.
| | | I knew this was Jom's article the second I saw the title.
| | | i hope they ****en brake up. THEY SUCK!!!!!
and amy wanting to write musical scores for maovies. i'd sooner stab out mine own eyes with a spoon!
| | | That's kinda rude of them to include all of the "likes." Usually, "likes" and "ums" are omitted from interview quotes, because the interviewer recognizes that people are human. Seems like he/she included those just to make Lee look like a ditz.
Anyways, good for her. I'm not a big Evanescence fan and, in fact, Lee's voice kinda makes me cringe because her technique sounds painful, but I can certainly sympathize with her position. As much fun as gigging is, I also recognize that it's not something to do when you're 60. Scoring and composing, however, you can do on your deathbed.
| | | And composing is fun. Even though Jommy's title got me excited for no good reason.
| | | Freakin A that was wonderful Beavis and Butthead play by play! Excellent indeed!
| | | Burn on Seeter.
