Im sure they described the new stuff a while back as 'heavier, more metal' etc etc. Couldnt really be further from the truth.

Entirety was better, I like Telle's new clean style but agreed on this not sounding heavier or more metal at all

Pretty much in agreement with the above statements. None of what we have heard so far has been as heavy or "metal-headed" as what we heard on their previous efforts.

This is only the second single, from what I've read they plan on releasing one more (possibly). Yeah, these songs have been much softer but two songs off a 13 track album isn't much of indication just yet. I also enjoyed this song, although, I miss Zack doing the higher screams.

Its better than Entirety but I'm still not crazy about it.

Does the drummer ever play anything remotely interesting other than his insane double pedal?

Joey Sturgis is the shittest producer in the genre, every album he works on comes out as bland, uninspiring and boring.

Luke had nothing to do with the writing on this album.

Always stood by the belief that as this band is going on, the screaming is getting better and better and the cleans are getting worse and worse. This just proves me right.

I think they're releasing songs that fans of the genre would enjoy. To everyone that loved "The Hounds of Anubis"...I'm PRETTY sure there are going to be 2 tracks on there very similar to it. The first is the opening track "Dragon Spell." "The Hounds of Anubis" uses the Egyptian scale, and "Dragon Spell" is going to use the Chinese scale. The other song that sounds interesting is "Evolution." I'm confident the album will be a great followup to "Deceiver."

Yes, they actually do. I've talked to 2 different band members. One of them (either Tony or Zack) listen Coalesce and Converge among their favorite metalcore bands. And who cares? 2 completely different types of metalcore here.

Also, album leaked. They definitely picked the 2 most melodic/least heavy songs for singles. There is much better guitar work to be heard on the rest of the album.

The album's really not that bad. There is, as usual, too much chugging, and they could lay off the synth a little, but it's implemented well for the most part. Good, fun album. Nothing groundbreaking.

The album leaked a while ago and I listened, it's okay. Not their best but it's got some fun moments. The synth is bad though and the drums are boring (too bad Luke Holland didn't write them). Deceiver was better.
