Chinese Democracy in May?

2006-02-21 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 12 Comments
Confirming yesterday's announcement that Guns N' Roses would headline the festival in June, organisers of Italy's Gods of Metal festival today indicated that the band's first original album since 1991, 'Chinese Democracy,' is set for a May release.

No official confirmation from the band has yet been received, however fans are well accustomed to hearing news from other sources well in advance of any official announcement.

The band was today confirmed for the Rock In Rio-Lisboa and Novarock festivals in Portugal and Austria respectively, in addition to the Gods of Metal announcement.

Interestingly, they also announced that the album would be preceded by a Greatest Hits compilation in March. Geffen Records released a similar package against the band's wishes in 2003.

The entire press release can be read, in Italian, at Sp1at.com.

I didn't really like the "first" greatest hits. I hope this one at least has some liner notes.
