Didn't expect these to be released so close together, not going to complain much though.

The album seems to want to draw in new fans, and while I can enjoy the brutality I would be lying if I said I didn't want more cleans.

i always thought the other 3 songs lacked atmosphere, and this track has tons of atmosphere, so i think its the best one so far

I didn't listen to the others enough to accurately compare.

Can't listen to this atm but I'm looking forward to the album. I don't really like it when bands release this many songs before album release though. kinda takes away from the power of the entire album

? 4 songs over the span of like a year and a half?

first single was dec 2009 i think

Yeah but they've still released 4. that's quite a lot. and the last 3 are quite recent

eh thats how mainstreamy groups in japan do it, release like 3 or 4 singles, then release the album and all the promotion for the album stops there besides touring

So why do bands like ABR do it?

I would be lying if I said I didn't want more cleans.

As far as I can remember they've had at least one clean song on every album. I can imagine them saving stuff like Dozing Green or Glass Skin for the album tracks for this one.
Remember, both of those songs were fairly clean yet the accompanying album was heavy as fuck. I can imagine them doing the opposite with this

some reviews of the album said that lotus was the most accessible so it seems there will be no glass skin or 我、闇とて・・・(their best clean song) on this album

Interesting. Still, at least they're trying to keep it relatively inaccessible, so it won't be like The Marrow Of A Bone

nvm Vanitas is pose to be the balllad of the album, while lotus is the most accessible

^The bass sounds like it might have a little chorus effect added to it. It also sounds metallic, a lot of high end and not much low end so it's not very "bassy".

So, they released this (which I thought was weird) hagawhatever (which I never fully listened to)
and Different Sense (which is awesome) If the rest of the album has a balance of heavy and cleans
like in Different Sense, I'll be happy. What else was released in advance?

Looking forward to this album. I like Uroboros, I like Gauze and that early j rock stuff, but I
don't really care for withering or marrow. Maybe they'll grow on me or something (saku is startin
to grow on me) but as of right now I don't care for those 2. This album seems like it'll be amazing
based on what i've heard. I wish they had better US tours, I want to see them as a headliner in
Buffalo NY, the closest they're coming this tour is Toronto in the middle of winter (3 hour drive
when its not snowing, so factor in snow and border and...blah. (and yes, I know they basically only
play stuff from withering and onwards live, but they seem like they put on an amazing show, thus i
want to see them)

tl;dr: what other songs have they released in advance, album sounds good so far, don't care for
withering or marrow but i like the rest, i wish they booked more american dates aside from giant
cities.

the Japanese music industry has this weird way of making every band, heavy or not, put forth material that is accessible for any listener to be marketed towards.(in my own experience with buying music over there)

Personally, i think this was fantastic for them in this case, because writing ballads, and incorporating softer elements into their music has definitely made them a much more dynamic force to be reckoned with. It really shows throughout their progression, which is why i enjoy songs like Glass Skin that much more, because it can fit in with all their aggressive songs just as easily and doesnt seem forced or out of place.

@Mabbit - check the dates their playing with The Birthday Massacre, they might be coming closer to you than you think. And as for having to drive 3 hours... I plan on driving 7.

"check the dates their playing with The Birthday Massacre, they might be coming closer to you than you think."

the closest one is Toronto. there's also the NYC one but thats waaaaaay farther. or Philly. Unless they added more dates? I can't find any though.

"Why in the fuck would you post all that gibberish?"

I just started typing and then realized it was super long and pointless but after i spent all that time typing it i didn't wanna delete it :
