It's a great album, but don't expect it to be as good as In Shallow Seas, because you may have your hopes let down a bit.

May check out later, who knows?
|
| |
I'm so hooked to this
|
| |
SeaAnemone told me that this was post-hardcore's finest!
|
| |
Well then it must be true.
|
| |
This owns.
|
| |
Fucking rules.
|
| |
Really good, although some more vocal harmonies and back to back bit would have made this even better.

I don't want a new In Shallow Seas We Sail... We already got one!
|
| |
i agree with everyone and disagree with the first person to start trolling
perhaps it will be sonic?
|
| |
I want another sailing voyage

this was my first Emery album. was pretty good. initially had it at a 4 when it leaked and have since bumped it down to a 3.5. i think i'll check out that Shallow Seas album soon.
|
| |
sucks. boooooooooooooo
|
| |
@generic shallow seas is a lot better, and i did the same with this album 4 then down to a 3.5
|
| |
it's not like amazing but its a solid 3.5 or so
|
| |
The harsh vocals are good I don't see why people say they don't fit.
Instrumentalization is pretty good except for when they throw down the useless chugdown sections.
|
| |
The Cheval Glass: breakdowns, how do they work?
|
| |
"Here comes the breakdown"
Made me lol, but god was that breakdown good.
Also, the screaming in this doesn't sound out of place like it does sometimes on Shallow Seas

| |
YOU WILL NOT BE SATISFIED

@strider screamings 10x more out of place on this than in shallow seas, that being said i still think its good on this
|
| |
the chorus on the 6th song sounds really familiar to another song, i just cant place my finger on it.

wat @ double post
|
| |
the clean vocals arent as good as in ISSIS but the screams are that much better.
|
| |
sweet. Really want to hear this.

butcher's mouth
|

This is catchy as hell. I'm liking this alot...
|
| |
Love this like hell.
|
| |
It's okay
|

Listening to Fix Me: Meh it's alright...
"Jesus fix me"
OH FFS!
|
| |
yeah thats basically what i did
then he says father fix me and i punched my speakers
|
| |
Yeah...belief in Jesus. Unheard of.
|
| |
i'm not her for rage.... is sick. that guitar solo is a nice touch
|
| |
I don't think it's the belief in God that's gettin' people down on "Fix Me" by Emery but rather the trite way that belief is expressed. "Chest of Drawers" by Woven Hand, "Jesus Christ, What a Man" by Billy Joe Shaver, and "Boulder to Birmingham" by Emmylou Harris all express that same belief yet do so in a profound and powerfull way that would appeal to most regardless of belief. Had Emery done that then I believe our friends like PaperBagBoy and Knott- would think differently.
|
| |
really good album. The first emery album i've listened to properly, having only listened to Shallow Sea's for the first time last week! Really impressed, good musicianship, songwriting, vocals, and pretty good lyrics for this genre

THREAD

where's davey boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
|
| |
I like the screams better on this, and I don't mind the heavier sound. Wish they had the dual cleans back but eh whatever
|
| |
AOL music? what the hell?
|
| |
this is so wallsy, pretty good actually.
|
| |
Knot boils over with rage every time there is a religious reference in music.
|
| |
oh my god... this is what emery is supposed to be.
|
| |
Yeah Knott, every time I hear a belief that I don't explicitly share with the artist expressed in one of their songs, I punch speakers as well.
How dare they stand for something I don't, how dare they...
|
| |
ew emery
|
| |
i think it's a solid album, not as good their last one imo. however, the breakdown in 'the cheval glass' is really bad :/
|
| |
Meh, decent.
