If he was writting about the issue of child porn (as bad as it is) surely he should be cleared, as he was viewing it with (how can one put this) "good" intentions.

But nobody should bring that shite up if all it causes is grief.

Pete's girlfriend and Howard's are friends, meeting at a Tommy on Broadway benefit thing some years ago. They share intersests and charitable causes. Since Howard is with Sirius and Pete and The Who as well, the two Yoko's thought it would be great for all involved, as everyone has something to promote these days. Including Sirius. Who thought it was a great idea, set it up, and promoted the meeting out front of its two day free promo thing. But I suppose not....This Message Edited On 10.26.06

Well I'm not sure about that last part. Pete is an extraodinarily intelligent man. According to him he was shocked that when typing words such as "Russia" and "Boys" and "Orphanage" in search engines and following links (at least back then) how easily it was to come across CP. He had worked for childrens charities and causes as well as battered and abused women since the early eighties. Doing his new paper he wanted to write first hand of what he would find and wanted to see for himself how far this "hidden world" went once inside. After all you just can't go ask your neighbor.

So figuring he is Pete Townshend and at work and only intended to visit once he gained access. He then told his attoney what he had found and said he wanted to alert the authorites, but his attoney advised against it as he informed Pete he had already commited a crime. Whcih surprised Pete somewhat, given he never visted the site again and never downloaded a thing. But his attoney assured him it would only create trouble and to not mention this experience so personally in his paper, as it would raise eyebrows with some.
