Rammstein DVD Update

2006-10-11 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 3 Comments
Rammstein's new DVD Völkerball ("Volleyball") will be released in three seperate formats and will include up to three hours of concert footage, management has revealed.

The three release formats are as follows (from Blabbermouth.net):
  • Standard Edition: two-disc set (1 DVD, 140 minutes live video + 1 CD, 75 minutes live audio).

  • Special Edition: three-disc set (1 DVD, 140 minutes live video + 1 DVD, 90-minute documentary, including "Anaconda in the Net" + "Reise, Reise: The Making of the Album" + 1 CD, 75 minutes live audio).

  • Limited Edition: 190-page tour photo book, including all three discs from the special edition + the entire live audio recordings of the concerts (140 minutes) on an additional fourth disc!
"More is not possible," claimed Rammstein's manager Emanuel Fialik. "[W]e show everything that can be packed onto a DVD nowadays. Almost 3 hours Live recordings filmed in France, Japan, England and Russia. Also there is an audio CD featuring 75 minutes concert footage. In a special edition the band will release a 2nd DVD with 2 documentaries running a total of over 90 minutes. That makes 3 discs in a special edition; 2 DVD’s and 1 audio CD."

Rammstein were nominated for a grammy award early this year in the "Best Metal Performance" category for their single 'Mein Teil' from their multi-platinum effort Rosenrot.

My goodness, that is quite a lot. Maybe I'll pick this up sooner or later.

@Wish:

If you mean "völkerball" to be a random name, i think you´re wrong with that. I think völkerball is a well chosen name becaue in german it is a word-play. völkerball is a common game at german schools - and also Völker-ball could mean somethink like ball (in the meaning like in prom-ball) of the nations - well chosen if you see that it was a world-tour they were filmed on.

Mein Teil is not from Rosenrot, it's from Reise Reise.
