sludge is sludge and this is nothing we haven't heard before

This is the furthest thing from sludge they've ever done though, and imo it's way too diverse to be just another sludge album. I mean with all the psych influences, jammy bits, poppy moments it's hardly a sludge album at all.

The first four tracks rule, but it gets even better after that.

it is a bit different but its not like sludge has never done a psychadelic poppier approach

Holy crap this is good.

I honestly forgot that they had two drummers until the drums halfway into Crowded Road.

I wish I had seen these news early as they are playing NYC as I type this. I would have booked it out of work early had I known.

Great album to follow Static Tensions. Different in many ways, yet still a good listen.

I thought the songs were too short...the last few on Static Tensions evolved through multiple parts that stayed really interesting, but here, songs like 'Don't Look Back' and 'Back and Forth' spend a lot of time repeating themselves = Alas, I nitpick. Solid album, it'll probably grow on me like Static Tensions did over time.

hmmm, not sure on this one yet. yeah it's a bit poppier. ya, its less sludgey. and ya they almost forgot they had two drummers for half the album...man i wish they would actually use those two guys. jury still out on this one. it's no blue album, i can say that

Baroness and Kylesa are two completely different bands at this point so comparing Blue Album and this is pointless (though both are incredible). Both drummers are utilized really well here...if they were both going all out constantly it would sound retarded.
