I was contemplating getting the crew together for a trek to Australia for Soundwave, but now I don't know
|
| |
looks like soundwave and bdo both suck this year oh well
|
| |
i count 4 bands.
|
| |
so disappointing... hopefully the second line-up has something decent, the third is usually redundant anyways. Might be able to scrounge a decent day out of it if i decide to go
|
| |
Tool, Rammstein, Grinderman, Deftones, The Black Keys and Crystal Castles
I wish we got festivals this good in Canada.
|
| |
i count 4 bands.
I count 9
|
| |
Don't they usually get good acts for this thing?
|
| |
i managed to get up to 11.
|
| |
also how awesome would it be if maynard came out and sang 'passenger' with chino?
that'd be so awesome.
|
| |
I will go to ask Julia Stone to marry me. Maybe she will say yes this time
|
| |
Deftones and tool, if they did passenger i would fuck you all, no question... Was gunna flag BDO for soundwave too, so i already got my ticket for that... now it looks like 2011 is gunna eat some tits for music... gunna be sore
|
| |
I wish we got festivals this good in Canada. We've actually got some pretty good stuff out here in BC. Plus, Sasquatch is pretty close.
|
| |
I don't know what so many people are complaining about. The line up is epic.
My immediate thought when I saw both tool and deftones was whether they'd play passenger together too. Sure hope so!
|
| |
Such a terrible lineup. Iggy and The Stooges are the only international act that I'm interested in. I really wanna see a ton of the aussie bands though so...
|
| |
deftones. that is all.
|
| |
Andrew WK
i'm sold.
|
| |
theres a few aussie bands playing not listed like children collide etc. i think. lupe was excellent last time and should definitely be able to get a good day out of this.
|
| |
Theres a few decent acts, seems to be better than last year which is a plus.
Definately keen for Die! Die! Die!, Crystal Castles, LCD Soundsystem.
|
| |
THE FUCKING BLACK KEYS
Second announcement better be good.
|
| |
Looks pretty good to me. Hopefully the next two line ups are good as well, then I'm sold.
|
| |
john butler trio are amazing, yeah.
although the new album wasn't anything to jizz over, the old trio was better.
|
| |
Ah, so the rumours were about Tool and not blink-182.
Agree with the Passenger thing. I think it will happen.
|
| |
tool
mia
grinderman
deftones
lcd soundsystem
the black keys
john butler trio
crystal castles
ratatat
andrew w.k.
bloody beetroots death crew 77
birds of tokyo
fuck yeah
also does this mean they'll play a maynard passenger fuckyeah
|
| |
Pass... Line-Up does nothing for me.
I'm hoping Laneway fest (announced in 2 weeks time) will be good enough to replace BDO this year. So far; Local Natives & Menomena are heavily rumoured.
|
| |
'Don't they usually get good acts for this thing?'
Yeah. 10 years ago.
|
| |

ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN THIS
COOL NIGHT AIR IS CURIOUS
LET THE WHOLE WORLD LOOK IN
WHO CARES WHO SEES ANYTHING
I'M YOUR PASSENGEEEERRRRRRRRR
|
| |
i'd go but the crowd is way too terrible for me to put up with
|
| |
Exactly what Transient said.
|
| |
Yeah, there's only so many times you can tolerate fuckheads with aussie swazzie tatts demanding you 'kiss the flag, mate' before skulls start getting crushed.
|
| |
Rammstein is by far the best thing there.
|
| |
Check out Die! Die! Die! and you'll change that opinion
|
| |
Yeah, there's only so many times you can tolerate fuckheads with aussie swazzie tatts demanding you 'kiss the flag, mate' before skulls start getting crushed.
Good thing I'll be in Auckland then
|
| |
I'm actually contemplating going to the Auckland one.
|
| |
You're in Australia though, right?
|
| |
Yeah, Melbourne. I'm a big boy though and can afford both flights AND booze. Just need to find a weed hookup and I'm set!
|
| |
I might know a guy
|
| |
Auckland it is then!
|
| |
Just make sure you stay out of South Auckland when getting your weed.
|
| |
The reference might be lost on the foreigners Liberi
|
| |
I hope Deftones play some shows outside of BDO, cos I ain't forking out that much just to see them.
|
| |
Nice to see Deftones and tool on the bill. Too bad I can't be bothered travelling from Hamilton to Auckland and forking over admission just so I can be forced to the back by a bunch of assholes who aren't even listening to the music
|
| |
It is a fair warning for all travellers though.
And don't worry, come January, Hamilton probably will have merged with Auckland by then.
|
| |
Wait, you're in Hamiltron Asiatic?
|
| |
Yeah. Too bad all the good events seem to happen in Auckland
|
| |
I honestly had no idea, I'll be up there in about 3 weeks
|
| |
Deviant, you live in Wellington though right?
|
| |
Do indeed, if I remember correctly you do as well right?
|
| |
No Karnivool? Fuck dem
Oh well, I bet they will be writing and recording all of 2011.
|
| |
Yeah, in good ole Johnsonville at the moment.
|
| |
Hataitai for me
|
| |
Got to say, just feels weird actually seeing Kiwis on here.
You go to uni?
|
| |
Yeah it is a little strange, especially one so close
Working at the mo, and you?
|
| |
deadbotooltones teh 4 best
|
| |
whoa nz alert.
This lineup is pretty ave, where's The National and Arcade Fire goddamn. Still, a few sweet acts.
|
| |
Welly reppin'
Passenger 4 pres
|
| |
The National are heavily rumoured
|
| |
what would be cool is if a sideshow was played with both tool and the deftones together.
electro-pop averted!
also, the crowds there are pretty shit.
mastodon played first last year to a bunch of teeny boppers and coked-up prostitutes and nobody watched them, so it's awesome that the BDO organisers have headlined with a prog-metal band once again.
|
| |
Another Wellingtonian? Doesn't even seem possible.
I think if The National are at the BDO, there is no way I can say no.
|
| |
never going to a bdo again.
too many fuckwits and too many $$$$
|
| |
The National are doing shows in early January, why do you guys seem to think they'll play BDO? I'm hoping for a Southbound sideshow for The National personally, because it's filled with the same bunch of braindead dumbasses that seem to run rampant at Big Day Out.
|
| |
Tool. Awesome.
|
| |
Muse is playing a sideshow in December. Not in Adelaide but thats ok. I'm pretty sure some cool bands are playing with them too. I may go on a holiday and see them. That would be cool to see them live.
|
| |
DEFTONES
|
| |
Die! Die! Die! are one of the only bands there I would pay to see.
|
| |
