These first shows will sell out in about 2.9 seconds, if not in some sort of "special" pre-sale.

You speak the truth Davey
| |
HELL YEAH
| |
they look pretty lame in the band pic... someone should change it to an old school one...
| |
Will be there.
Hopefully they get some decent support as well.
| |
If I miss out on getting a ticket for this I... I don't know what I'll do.
| |
"Hopefully they get some decent support as well" AIRBOURNE!!!!!! :-)
"If I miss out on getting a ticket for this I... I don't know what I'll do." You'll wait for a 2nd concert to be released... Then a 3rd... etc, etc, etc... This is Pink all over again.
| |

Done.
| |
I actually wouldn't be surprised if they did support. Wolfmother will probably do it though.
| |
"I actually wouldn't be surprised if they did support. Wolfmother will probably do it though. "
LOL. I actually wrote them down & changed it at the last minute.
| |
Gay. I'd rather Megadeth.
| |
Maybe Megadeth will support! ;-)
| |
Metallica are worthy of being Megadeth's roadies at best. Mustaine might not of succeeded in being "bigger" than Metallica but his band sure as hell ended up being a lot better.
| |
So Megadeth's a band now?
| |
Brisbane Ent Centre is a shithole. Wish they were doing Lang Park instead. Stupid noise polution wankers.
Can't miss it though.
| |
Yeah, I thought they'd do Etihad Stadium in Melbourne for certain. If AC/DC can sell it out 3 times over, then Metallica can at least sell it out once. And I presume they still could have done it 'In The Round' there. Dunno, maybe they make more money at arenas.
| |
Just another two weeks to this day and I will be seeing Metallica for the 2nd time in Belfast along with Volbeat and the just recently announced High on Fire. Oh YES!!!!
| |
they look pretty lame in the band pic... someone should change it to an old school one...
Done.
Current band pics please
| |
Current band pics please
Ok, this one then. I like 'em black-and-white.
| |
Hetfield looks like a giant in that picture
| |
someone needs to teach you guys how to picture better, geez
| |
Everybody loves Ellen
| |
LOL
| |
Ok, what about cartoon Metallica?
| |
lol.
| |
Australians know whats up. Love the hard rock coming out of there, and that includes Airbourne. Yeah, I said it.
| |
And if Volbeat is opening you guys really need to go.
| |

Personally I love both, but metallica more. However, there's no doubt that Chris Broderick is the most talented musician of all of them...that guy slays live, and is insanely knowledgable.
| |
Yeah saw Megadeth live in December and was about 10 feet from the stage. Broderick did the solo of Tornado of Souls without looking or missing a note, dude fucking shreds.
| |
Nothing shreds more than the guy in your avatar though...
| |
It must be hella nice being that famous.
| |
they taking their shrink with them?
| |
^ They dropped him seven years ago, just saying
| |
my dick is so small
| |
=[[
| |
Stoked.
They we're alright in '04, mix was rubbish in Sydney.
Should be better now.
I hope.
| |
Thank GOD they aren't playing Etihad Stadium, AC/DC sounded like crap in that place, Rod Laver should be perfect! If I don't get tickets to this...
| |
maybe i can finally see them and quench my 15 year old dreams despite the fact they're old and shit now
| |
Saw them at Wembley Stadium in 2007 and they still kick arse
| |
damn, i'm going to miss them
| |
Yeah I was at that Wembly gig too, pretty damn good. Pinkpop fest 08 owned though.
| |
i really really want to see them in melbourne.
i hope they bring the rest of the big four to support! that would be awesome.
| |
the supports for this are going to be fucking awful
| |
Got my tickets to the Perth Show - can't wait!
| |
I missed out on tickets dammnit! Will hopefully get some if they list some more shows!
| |
same =(
| |
How much were they? I was reading something ridiculous about them charging over $10 just for picking them up!
| |
$150 i think
my mate tried for the presale but missed out, and couldn't any when they went on sale yesterday.
they have to announce more shows, srsly. pretty sure melbourne's their last stop anyway. they could add heaps.
| |
Yeah, you could see from the original dates above that they have so much room for more shows. Why they didn't just book Stadiums in the 1st place will remain a mystery. They could still play "In The Round".
I'm really starting to be more choosey with the venues I go see gigs in nowadays too. A comparison: Florence & The machine with 1 album at Festival Hall = $87. Biffy Clyro at The Hi Fi Bar with 5 albums = $45.
Now I know Florence is currently running hot & is probably already more popular, but that's a ridiculous discrepancy and imo has a lot to do with the venue. I can almost guess tkt prices nowadays simply from where the concert is at!
| |
Hopefully the HiFi in Melbourne doesn’t suck like the one in Brisbane, Davey.
| |
I will let you know next week CTS. From what I've been told though, it's much better.
Speaking of local gigs, many of the Splendour In The Grass sideshows that went on sale today are already sold out! I was gonna leave Two Door Cinema Club as a same week decision. That's out the window now!
| |
I got Silver Seating tickets (Metallica) for the Thursday Sydney show, but I think I was lucky to even get them. Was desperately trying for standing, oh well. Did you guys flat out miss out on any tickets at all? A lot of people I know did.
| |
yep.
| |
Hi-Fi in Brisbane isn't overly awful or anything, but for a specifically built live concert venue it was really underwhelming. 1st time I went I read the 'about' spiel on the website beforehand and went in expecting "nine distinct levels of viewing" or something, which was really kind of bizarre considering there was only 2.
Managed to snag a GA ticket for the 19th Tuesday concert. Was a fucking challenge to get a hold of it though.
| |
Last gig I went to was Grinspoon at the Hi Fi Bar in Melbourne and it was hands down one of my favourite gigs and the venue is up their with the Forum as one of my favourites.
I somehow got gold seating for Sunday in Melbourne for Tallica', really wanted standing but considering people full on missed out, I'm not complaining. ($20 postage fee is an absolute joke though)
| |
I saw Adam Hills at the Hi- Fi Bar... that was good, and only 30 bucks!
| |
"$20 postage fee is an absolute joke though"
F'n ridiculous. What are they using? Afghani Post.
| |
Specially bred Carrier Pigeons I believe....
| |
Lamb of God and Baroness are the support acts supposedly.
| |
Hmmm. Not sure they are great choices, since I think the crowd will be rather mainstreamy.
They added a new Sydney & Melbourne gig... Like 4-6 weeks before the tour was meant to start. I think they're just gonna live here for 3 months.
| |
i hear you davey, i saw them a few months ago and Mastodon opened up for them, needless to say Mastodon slayed yet nobody gave them any love
| |
I guess Metallica are just trying to do their bit for bands they like.
| |
cant blame them for helping a brotha out can you?
| |
Not that I know how it works, but if support acts get a % of the ticket revenue, then these 2 are about to be rich.
| |
Is it like how supposedly water turns in the other direction in the southern hemisphere? Are they going to magically become good now?
| |
BURN
| |
Not that I know how it works, but if support acts get a % of the ticket revenue, then these 2 are about to be rich.
yeah i do belive thats how it works, atleast for some acts but it depends on the main performer, still i doubt this guys would tour for the love of music, i mean lets be real, opening up for metallica, as much as anybody disses them, is still a profitable oportunity to say the least
| |
You still lose your dignity though.
| |
dignity doesnt really have anything agains cold hard cash
| |
You would make a great prostitute.
