New Ozzy Osbourne Album

2010-04-14 by LepreCon | 32 Comments
Former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne will reportedly release his 10th solo studio album, entitled Scream, on June 15th.

The new record from The Prince of Darkness was originally supposed to be titled Soul Sucka after a song from the album but was changed due to negative fan reaction. The album's first single, entitled "Let Me Hear You Scream" will premier on CSI: New York on April 15th. This is the first Ozzy Osbourne album without Zakk Wylde on guitar since No Rest For the Wicked in 1988. Taking up axe duties on the new album is Firewind guitarist Gus G.

is there any point to calling him 'former sabbath frontman' after 10 solo albums?

it's fitting because he'll never do any better than Master of Reality, Sabotage and Black Sabbath.

I'm interested to see how he does without Zakk Wylde. As much as I love Zakk (seen BLS 3 times) his newer stuff is really disappointing, maybe this new guy can be a little more creative.

Given he did more good albums with Black Sabbath than solo albums he will always be the former Sabbath guy

for news purposes, where the better recording originated is irrelevant when the individual is as well known as ozzy. You wouldn't start an album like: 'Former Jackson 5 vocalist Michael Jackson...'

Timberlake and Jackson were much more famous for their solo outings than their band performances and Lennon wasn't exactly the frontman of the Beatles. The whole Sabbath thing was a personal thing for me and I have a habit of putting him as the former Sabbath singer before being a solo artist, given that he's rejoined Sabbath on and off kinda keeps me in that mindset, but I'll be careful to consider these things better in future, my apologies to any I may have offended

Ozzy is arguably more famous as a solo act than as the frontman of Sabbath, and Timberlake sold a shitload more records as a member of N*Sync. This sentence:

The whole Sabbath thing was a personal thing for me and I have a habit of putting him as the former Sabbath singer before being a solo artist, given that he's rejoined Sabbath on and off kinda keeps me in that mindset

is hard to argue with, though. nobody offended, just making a counterpoint.

Im surprised ozzy can still sing, coz he can hardly string a couple of sentences together.
