Tool to play Coachella

2006-01-31 by Med57 EMERITUS | 4 Comments
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that hard rock band Tool are to play the seventh Coachella music festival, taking place this year on April 29 and 30 in California. Tickets for the event go on sale this coming Sunday, and the news comes after rumours surrounding the festival, including a Smashing Pumpkins reunion (which recently was confirmed as not happening). Tool's appearance at the festival seems likely to mark their first gig since the end of the tour in support of 2001's "Lateralus", and could see the band playing some of their long-awaited new material. The as yet unnamed new album by the band is believed to be due some time in April or May of this year, and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year for many music fans. Tool are also set to play European festivals including the Danish Roskilde festival in June and July this year. Another as yet unconfirmed date is a possible appearance at the Reading and Leeds festivals in England, which has been reported as having been confirmed according to a source "close to the band".
