seems a lot less metal and more of the stuff like on focus, and paul is singing without the voice effect which is kinda weird. wheels within wheels doesn't seem that great but thats just based off 20 seconds they play of it
|
| |
these guys are too full of themselves.
edit: went and listened to it. not only was it boring, but has about one fourth of the guitars that the first traced had.
just a bunch of soft singing with a few strums. boring
|
| |
With how much praise they get why wouldn't they be full of themselves.
I thought the clip was alright.
|
| |
why are you sneezing? cryptopsy is the king of sellouts. cynic is the king of music that people listen to once, and then realize they've been constipated all day.
|
| |
This clip is a bunch of songs, not just Wheels, more of a trailer for the EP. I think it sounds fucking sick, the other genres they're tryin' out flow seamlessly with the original Traced in Air tracks.
^Out of some sort of curiousity, what makes you say Cynic's full of themselves?
|
| |
Haven't listen to this yet, but I really liked Wheels Within Wheels when they played it live.
|
| |
they composed a whole video with special effects and interviews just to say "hey we're releasing some stuff!"
why not just give us a studio report or something? and why special effects?
|
| |
oh yeah, and integral birth didn't need a re release. they're gonna ruin the only song i actually like by these guys
|
| |
They played Wheels Within Wheels live when I saw them, and trust me, it's good.
I don't know how well it translates to a record though.
|
| |
here is a link to the live song ..its actually pretty good
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emKVkZAssLw
|
| |
side note. anyone else notice the slutty top and side ads from American apparel? i get weird looks in comp sci when there's thighs flashing everywhere.
|
| |
They composed a whole video with special effects and interviews just to say "hey we're releasing some stuff!"
Are you serious? A myriad of bands do these in-studio video clips to promote their upcoming material. Nothing wrong with that, just business.
|
| |
They composed a whole video with special effects and interviews just to say "hey we're releasing some stuff!"
BANDS SHOULD NOT PROMOTE THEMSELVES!
|
| |
they composed a whole video with special effects and interviews just to say "hey we're releasing some stuff!"
OMG SELF PROMOTION! It's not like they making a living off their music or anything
|
| |
Anyone find it ironic how much bloozclooz posted in this thread?
|
| |
lol new song is phenomenal. bloozclooz could probably fuck right off and no one would care
|
| |
Userword, how exactly have Opeth 'whored out' 10 albums? They've been around for almost 20 years......
|
| |
of course no one would care. it's the internet, and no one really cares about anyone else on here. i respect a few members on here for their well written reviews, but most of these users i don't give a damn about.
that's not something new.
self promotion is fine, if you would stop jumping in on conversations without understanding what's goin on, i said this presentation came off as a little pretentious. is all.
i'm amused at how many times i've been quoted.
edit: lolol, just looked at your profile, duderino. a member for 3 years, and no reviews? if you fucked off, no one would notice. what's worse, leaving behind a few good impressions and a couple mildly good reviews, or nothing, nothing at all?
|
| |
haha bloozclooz you queer. I just checked your tastes, they suck, your reviews are decently written but ultimately not entertaining. And The Faceless at 5? The Faceless wouldn't be half the band they are without Cynic, Cynic pioneered the genre of prog/death tech along with Atheist you queermo haha. Get off the site you panzy.
|
| |
its a 20 second clip people, you cant actually think the album is gonna suck or that the band is really doing nothing new out of it can you?
|
| |
lol
|
| |
yes
|
| |
"haha bloozclooz you queer. I just checked your tastes, they suck,"
so cryptopsy, neuraxis, and behemoth suck? those are pretty much my top three bands. you're making no sense man, none at all
edit: and it gets even better! you've written no reviews! how can you insult my work when you have submitted nothing? hmm?
|
| |
how can you insult my work when you have submitted nothing? hmm?
So you write reviews to express the fact that you think you're both an English major and music critic, instead of encouraging criticism?
|
| |
@bloozclooz
How can you say Cynic is pretentious for releasing a promotional clip, yet Behemoth is one of your top three bands. The video for 'At the left hand ov God' is some of the most pompous, gimmicky shit I have ever seen.
|
| |
self promotion is fine, if you would stop jumping in on conversations without understanding what's goin on, i said this presentation came off as a little pretentious. is all.
How is that pretentious? Almost every band today release's teasers to new stuff? Just because it's a band you can't appreciate doesn't mean it's pretentious.
|
| |
Let's not degrade into ultimate-guitar level conversation and get the sand out of our vaginas, righty-ho-ho?
|
| |
@Ghostechoes:
that video licks some mayor balls
|
| |
"So you write reviews to express the fact that you think you're both an English major and music critic, instead of encouraging criticism?"
i would love you to critique my reviews. please go over to them, and critique away!
zuzek has a point. let's fucking drop this now
|
| |
how can you not like "at the left hand ov god" video? that shit is legit
|
| |
cos that shit isnt legit, at all...
|
| |
can you explain? the first bit was a bit corny, with the floating over the water.
but when he was doin that solo, and the ashes were flyin, and he was all pounden that cross into the ground, it was fucking intense.
you didn't like that bit?
|
| |
i think the point their trying to get across is that it's pretentious.
|
| |
the video is as corny and gimmicky as can be, cos you dont buy it, at all, its unrealistic, you only see nergal going through the motions in that video, its not funny, its not artsy, its just there
|
| |
oh ok lol. i'm sorry that you don't like it. does the video for "conquer all" strike you better?
|
| |
now your talking ;)
|
| |
lol ok then. well i'm fucking tired. but before i go off to beddy bye land, i must say that "Shoeshine for Neptune" has teh most fucking sexy ass muda fuckin music video ever. true that
|
| |
seems more airy, i like
|
| |
As much as I absolutely adore Cynic, I'm a little leery of this unfortunately...
Who can blame them though. They are probably just trying to make a better living for themselves, I don't expect that they have tons of resources to fall back on. They probably deserve more than they have, they are fantastic musicians.
By the way, "bloozclooz," just give up. You've been owned like four, five, or six times here.
|
| |
Well that's logical
|
| |
this is definitely different, looking forward to it
|
| |
I'm eager to see how it turns out. I'm just a bit worried from what I heard. But still eager
|
| |
By the way, couldn't we get a picture of the band that isn't 25 years old?
|
| |
that matters because...?
|
| |
k im stoked for this now. I went back to think about how Traced In Air is so awesome.
|
| |
that video was pretty sweet. i have high hopes for this ep.
|
| |
Acoustic version of Integral Birth= win
|
| |
Good Lord, this was a fucking retarded thread.
|
| |
agreed, i arrived at the battle scene too late
|
| |
but i can still say bloozclooz iz a goon
|
| |
i like that im not hearing any of those forced weak death metal vocals (robot vocals i could deal with). Still don't get why these guys are good and ive tried both focus and traced in air several times :/.
|
| |
well sorry about that at least you tried, guna rule btw
|
| |
This EP is going to be sick. I doubt the songs are going to be any better than the originals, but it's cool to see a band think outside of the box and recompose some of their songs. And Wheels Within Wheels is awesome. Saw them play it live, and the recording sounds pretty similar.
|
| |
They played Wheels Within Wheels live when I saw them, and trust me, it's good. Now I know what that song was!
