Panic! singer injured

2006-08-26 by Pyramidman | 35 Comments
Pani! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie was injured while performing at the Reading Festival in England yesterday, after an audience member threw a glass bottle at him. The band was midway through their first song when the bottle hit Urie in the face. The singer immediately fell to the ground.
However, despite a clearly visible cut above Urie\'s right eye, Panic! At The Disco finished the remainder of their set. A determined Urie told the crowd, \"It will take more than that to stop me.\" He then pointed to his uninjured left eye and said, \"Do you want to hit this one next?\"
At the end of the band\'s set a paramedic came onstage to treat Urie\'s wound.

For once a bottle actually hits someone and it's someone I like.

I'd rather be hit by a bottle of piss than a glass one. I mean, at least piss is sterile.

Yea, I mean, seriously, all of those 15 yr olds gots alcohol in there and are totally hammered and stuff.
Here's the way I see it: If you're just gonna throw crap at a band, why pay the 30-40 bucks to go see 'em? It's a waste.

Because telling your friends you hit the singer with a glass bottle or a bottle of piss is way cooler than just saying you weant to see a band.

Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie was injured while performing at the Reading Festival

It was a festival, not a single PATD show.

I wouldn't bottle a band for just playing thier songs even if I dont like them, I have bottled a band for miming though, but that was just copious amounts of plastic bottles, glass is hard to get into the main area of reading fest.

its just distrespectful to the band and its ruining the chance for people who want to watch, if you don't like him, complain about him to your mates but when theyre up there doing their best trying to please people it must have pissed them off to get that reaction.

This is obnoxious. Had the band been properly drilled in evasive maneuvers they might have been able to regroup and return fire.

I don't like Panic! at all but I can't believe some of you people, this really isn't something to joke about. It shows imaturity and lack of respect. How would you like it if someone threw a bottle at one of your favorite bands' lead singer? You wouldn't like it all.

I agree that it's a very stupid thing to do, and I would never do it nor let someone do it. But sometimes it's bound to happen like Justin Timberlake at the Toronto Rocks festival. A bunch of people came to see The Stones, AC/DC, and Rush not Justin Timberlake.

I'm not familiar with the line-up for this festival, but it doesn't sound very good when MCR is going up after Slayer.

Well the festival is actually really good because it caters to all tastes. There's a lot of whining each year like why various bands are on the same stage or after each other or whatever but as the festival itself caters for everyone it's not really a problem. Plus the atmosphere at Reading is usually great.

they were at the show, meaning SOMEONE must like them

thats an asshole thing to do honestly.

They werent being forced to watch them perform, and they sure as hell weren't there to watch them perform.

It's rediculous the amount of elitism in music these days.

Hope Brendon recovers quickly, then sues the prick.

Why throw bottles at bands? Whatever happened to just booing and flipping them off?

Today I get to see TMV open for the Chili Peppers, and my friend told me I should throw a bottle of piss at Omar at the end of the set. Needless to say i did the right thing in this situation: I slit his throat and dumped him into the nearest river.

I think it is completely moronic how people throw bottles, glass ones at that, at bands just because they don't like them.

I admire Brendon for standing up for himself and also the rest of the band for continuing to play their set in such an awkward scenario.

To be honest, I do feel Panic!'s sound was a little out of place at the Reading Festival, but there is no way they deserved something like this. It's immature and just plain stupid.

who ever said that, u suck, thats all i have to say, what they did to brendon was horrible, and they should do something about it but theres no excuse to let ur anger out on the guitarist. He is just as good as anyone else.....and hes cute =D

I think that was wrong to hit a person like him because they're the most amazing band ever on Decaydance records with a most attractive frontman in it. Maybe that person who threw a bottle at him might be being drunk or being a jackass.
