I loathe this band

But in their defense, those songs came out years ago. Has this guy been living under a rock all this time??

Hm, maybe I'll sue Coldplay saying they stole one of my songs just so I can get some pub, too...

I'm interested to see how this turns out. I can't imagine someone actually going through the process to sue someone over stealing a song if they didn't have some real good evidence...

Person should be happy, least Coldplay made those songs popular. Hell, even Guetta's sampled Clocks.

a lawsuit is NOT cheap publicity. i'm guessing he's hoping for some money out of a settlement.

funny thing is this guy has wrote around 4000 songs.
anyone who writes a fuck load of songs like that is bound to have a song with some similarities come out somewhere down the line.
i bet that was his plan all along haha.

Even if he did write these songs...seriously 'Yellow' was released 10 years ago! The newest song was released in 2003. And it's not like Coldplay is underground. I like how he's pushing the fact that he's written over "4,000" songs...and these three where your only hits? And only when taken by another artist? Sounds plausible.

Lol. What a douchebag. There's no way he wrote any of those. Who the hell writes 4,000 songs in 30 some odd years. That's complete bullshit.

How do you go about proving such a claim? I mean even if he wrote something incredibly similiar wouldnt it just be circumstantial evidence?

JWT155
January 19th 2010

That's obviously they're job, to prove whether it's coincidental or not. I think Coldplay's Viva La Vida, even though I love the song, is definitely whether on purpose or subconciously influenced by Joe Satriani's 'If I Could Fly'. This youtube video explains it pretty well imo.
