Albert Hammond Jr, Guitarist with New York rockers The Strokes is set to release his first solo record through Rough Trade Records later this year. The album, due to be released on October 9th will mark the first time any member of the New York five-piece has released material outside of the band. The 10 track album entitled 'Yours To Keep' was recorded in New York's Electric Ladyland Studio with Greg Lattimer on production duties. The record also features guest appearances from Strokes mainman Julian Casablancas, Sean Lennon, Ben Kweller, Mooney Suzuki's Sammy James Jr, Fountains Of Wayne's Jody Porter and Strokes manager Ryan Gentles. The tracklisting for the record is as follows:

Cartoon Music For Superheroes (Goodnight)
In Transit
Everyone Gets A Star
Call An Ambulance
Blue Skies
Back To The 101
Bright Young Things
Scared
Holiday
Hard To Live In The City

As for The Strokes, the band are still touring the world to promote third album 'First Impressions Of Earth' which has sold just over 250,000 copies in the US despite entering at #1 in the UK album charts.

I don't know man, Ben Kweller and somebody from the strokes, those are two ingredients for a great song.

I don't mind solo albums as long as the band stays together.

Ben Kweller, Sammy, and a Strokes member. Sounds semi-orgasmic.

I very much doubt this will mean the end of The Strokes (hope to god it isn't). I think there's got a few more albums up their sleeves plus they're still having a good time which is the most important thing.

I hope he sing a few tracks too, but apparently he's a pretty great Guitar and Piano player too.
