Kinda gay they make you sign up to listen to a song. Wish they just went down the easy route and posted it on myspace. But I suppose this is a good way to build hype up for the album.

As for the song, it is awesome. I can't say it's too different but it sounds great (the production) and it's everything I love about this band.

This song is all over youtube. And you're right it is good. Nice (suprisingly crunchy) heavy start then it get's melodic. They werent fuckin around when they said this would be their most varied.

The songwriitng has come a long way. I mean heavy and melodic at the same time isnt uncommon, but for Katatonia it is. It's either one or the other.
This song sounds a little Meshuggah, anyone else catch that?

I kinda hear a bit of meshuggah in the more crunchy parts.
and yeah the songwriting has come a long way. lots of cool noisy drum freakouts and ambient passages to accompany the heaviness.

I thought this was EXCELLENT. The production was great, and the dynamics were fantastic. If the whole album is like this, it could be incredible. A real step up from Great Cold Distance, which is saying something.
