As often as I can I update my list of weekly releases that I use to create these news pieces, but it has been a while. That's probably why some releases are missing. I'll hopefully have an opportunity to go through new announcements and update my "database" tomorrow.

Temper Trap's latest sounded pretty good believe it or not, from what I've heard. There's still no Sweet Disposition or anything, but seems like a well put together indie-rock album.

Yeah, 2016 has been the year of masterpieces. I think I already have something like 10 albums that I rated 4+, and the year is only halfway over. The new Flamingods has a chance to join that company when I have time to devote an attentive full listen to it.

Sowing I don't blame you for not having the albums I was referring to on here - the Wye Oak was just announced and released yesterday as a surprise, and the other two albums (by Brandy Clark and Colvin & Earle) are country albums, not the kind of stuff I would expect to be on the radar of Sputnik's general usership. Pretty consistently the releases I'm anticipating aren't on these weekly posts - it's not you, it's me!

Oh I didn't even take it as a jab, I'm just noting that I do need to update it. Last week I missed Gates which my usual sources didn't deem a major enough release to list for the week. I'd say these weekly news pieces usually cover the gist, but if something ever falls through the cracks let me know and I'd be happy to add it

Sumac, Rival Sons and Flamingods I will pick up and the new Band of Horses doesn't sound bad either. Also checked out Bait. Pretty good week
