It is with heavy sorrow that we must say goodbye to one of our own. A few days ago, user pmmets07 passed away.

Out of respect for him and his family’s privacy, I ask that you don’t try to delve into the cause or why it happened. This is a time for grieving, and a chance for us to remember the life of one of our community members. Pmmets07 was a genuinely nice guy with a stand-up personality, and even if you only interacted with him on a limited basis, that was plain to see. I don’t know what I could possibly say to do him justice, and given that I didn’t know him very well, I don’t think it would be appropriate to try. So what I’d like to do is start something of a memorial thread for pmmets07. Comment with your favorite memory, something you liked or admired about him, a song/album that reminds you of him, or just to send your best wishes.

Also, if you haven’t already, take a moment to show his profile some love.

Rest in peace, bud. You are missed.

I remember his name, but truthfully I don't know that I've ever interacted with him. Shame since it seems like he was a great user, judging from what others have said. RIP

We would trade emo and punk recs a lot and I admired him as a person and as a writer. I won't claim I knew him all that well, but my heart is heavy all the same.

Never had much interaction with him, but he seemed like (and I'm certain he was) a chill dude from afar, and he was a stand-up member of our community who will be missed. I hope he is at peace, sincerely.

We didn't interact much but we had similar tastes and so I tended to see a lot of his comments and read a handful of his reviews. Seemed like a great user. RIP.

so pmmets and i realized one day that we both lived pretty close to each other and have been to a few of the same shows and decided to meet up at one (screaming females and thrice iirc). we eventually started playing music together in Deflate (it was almost entirely his project), where i played drums on a demo with him. after that we kept in semi-frequent contact. sometimes going to the same show or every so often dropping each other a text about stuff we've been listening to. i didn't know him as personally as a lot of people probably did, our conversations were pretty superficial, but he was truly one of the most stand up guys i've ever met. he had such a naturalness about him. you'd never think he did anything to try and impress or appease anyone. these are things people say about people who just passed away all the time, but i mean it totally and completely. it's really difficult to pin down my emotions regarding this whole thing; we had a pretty atypical friendship. but all the reasons that make it sad that he's gone, they also make me feel that much luckier to have met him.

RIP dude. i regret that i couldn't have known you for longer

RIP, hate seeing stuff like this.

I have a question though, and that's how did we find out about this in the first place?

Fuck this is awful
It sounds purely cheesy to say this but when you've got such a tight-knit community like Sputnik, losing someone feels a bit like losing a member of a family
R.I.P. you will be sorely missed

Hm, I remember we both joined Sputnik at around the same time, and I vividly remember that his AA! review was one of the very first reviews I read on here. I regret never having talked to him and that I never commented on his reviews, although I always read them.

RIP pmmets, you were one hell of an amazing person and one of the best writers on here.

yea i joined the site not long after pmmets and we dug a lot of the same stuff so he's just always been around, man. so weird to think that he won't be anymore.
