California trio blink-182 were the most popular band to emerge from the post-Green Day mainstream explosion of pop-punk. At a time when competition with teen pop and nu-metal were not unheard of, blink-182 released a steady stream of hits, bolstered by humorous, tongue-in-cheek music videos that were popular in the waning days of MTV's musical programming.
