So in case you haven’t heard, indie-pop legends The Shins are releasing their fourth studio album, Port of Morrow, this Tuesday. The entire album is actually streaming via iTunes (and it is pretty damn good) but “Simple Song” really stuck out to me. Its breezy, carefree chorus takes me back to the days of Oh, Inverted World. Listen and let me know what you think.

I for one am very excited.

Hopefully you've heard this by now if you like indie, but this is basically just a shoutout to say this album is great and coming out next week.

This is such a fucking tune.

I'm finding the album as a whole to be pretty underwhelming, though.

I have all their albums on vinyl, great band. But, was slightly disappointing by this track. Hopefully this single isn't a sign of all things to come on the album.

I hear this song on the radio pretty often. I love his voice and it's just a fun song all around.

sowing don't you live in philly? go get trashed at some awesome show and blog about that =)

in terms of the album, it's more laid back and straightforward than they usually are and while i think it's a step down for them, i still rather enjoy it

I like this. I haven't checked out The Shins before so I don't know how it compares, but it sounds good.

This is one of those songs that I find really hard to dislike but I don't voluntarily sit down with it. Radio play ain't bad

Upbeat and "breezy" yes, but this is pretty boring/forgettable. Boring songs are bad songs.

Songs are okay, nothing great sadly because I adore each previous shins album immensely.

simplicity is definitely an album theme, but the other song that leaked (40 mark strasse) is considerably better so i hope the radio play gets spread around more

Activista anti-MTV

sounds very shins-y

SowingSeason
