Nowhere on Hesher will you find "epic choruses" or anything close too substantial music. All you really get here are the most annoying Kroeger vocals ever recorded, terrible musicianship and poor craftmanship. I can't even really understand how this could have been so bad, but believe me, it is.

You just have to adore how even frontman Chad Kroeger mentioned that this EP Hesher was terrible. Maybe Nickelback weren't always the bumbling mainstream rock/post-grunge act who preferred quantity over stunning quality. Is it any wonder how these Canadians eventually went on to become the band people get a kick out of ridiculing? No, it isn't.

Nickelback's new stuff sucks but this also is awful. The music is boring and vocals are annoying. Also to add to the vocals, Kroeger sounds way too much like Kurt Cobain of Nirvana on some songs, almost like Kroeger is a wannabe Cobain. The whole album was just bad. If anyone thinks there is hope in the old material by Nickelback, there is not, it just as bad as the new stuff, or worse.

It is really a preview of ''Curb'',is what i thought.So I never really tryed to look for it , but when i did stumble across it,as a huge nickelback fan, i was really suprised.
This album is worth the buy just for the song ''In Front Of Me''.Which is a slow song to begin with but turns into a really emotional and powerful song.It is about pain and fear.You really feel like Kroeger is singing in fear and pain.Its quite moving.
Other songs not included on ''Curb'',such as (D.C and Truck) ,are very forgettable.Except for Truck which has a really weird and unusual vocal style by Kroeger that is worth at least a listen.
But tracks such as ''Fly'' and ''Where'' are far from forgettable.''Fly'' is an old Nickelback classic.The chorus is just plain cool.Its lyrics hit the mark like ''Where''. ''Where'' is a heavy track that is much like ''Too bad'',its complaining about a parental figure not being around when needed.Chads strained vocals help ''Where'' become extremely moving just like in ''In Front Of Me''.
Overall, Hesher is a hidden gem that holds one of Nickelbacks most engaging songs,''In Front Of Me''.
