Review Summary: Now available at Bed, Bath and Boredom

I think we all remember that fateful day in (insert day/month/year) when Lana Del Rey lethargically slouched to the top of the charts and our hearts with narcoleptic anthem Video Games.

In the months leading up to her most recent Lust for Life release, I, CompostCompote, gained exclusive access to Ms. Del Rey and conducted an intimate, ranging interview in which we tackled everything from metaphysical Life to Life as a social construct to Life the bland breakfast cereal.

Disclaimer – All Lana Del Rey answers have been pulled from previous actual interviews and given better context for the purpose of this exposé

Ms. Del Rey, how did you feel about spending the weekend dancing whilst watching tensions with North Korea mount?

I'm not gonna lie- I had complex feelings about spending the weekend dancing whilst watching tensions w North Korea mount. I find It's a tightrope between being vigilantly observant of everything going on in the world and also having enough space and time to appreciate God's good earth the way it was intended to be appreciated. On my way home I found myself compelled to visit an old favorite place of mine at the rim of the world highway where I took a moment to sit down by the sequoia grove and write a little song. I just wanted to share this in hopes that one individual's hope and prayer for peace might contribute to the possibility of it in the long run. Hope everyone has a nice day, with love from California.

Fascinating. Were you always an unusual girl? Did your mother ever compare your soul to some kind of pigment-shifting reptile?

I was always an unusual girl. My mother told me I had a chameleon soul, no moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality; just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean.”

What are your thoughts on feminism vis-*-vis Serbian-American inventor and overall kook Nikola Tesla?

For me, the issue of feminism is just not an interesting concept. I’m more interested in, you know, SpaceX and Tesla, what’s going to happen with our intergalactic possibilities. Whenever people bring up feminism, I’m like, god. I’m just not really that interested.

Yes yes, very interesting. How did you describe the sound you sought for Ultraviolence to producer Dan Auberanauerfhdjfjs of the Black Keys?

"My word for the record was 'fire,' you know, blue fire, when a flame gets so hot it goes from red to blue. And I told him I wanted everything to sound like it was in the key of blue. And I think at first he was like, 'What the f*ck?'"

What the f*ck indeed, Dan Aubernajeifjfkduedfhsdij of the Black Keys. Ms. Del Rey, I think our readers want to know if you truly believe in the school of hard knocks. Thoughts?

I don't believe in the school of hard knocks, although I've had them. All that stuff about whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger is so not true. Do you know what makes you stronger? When people treat you and your art with dignity.

This is really incredible stuff. Tell me, which volcanic archipelago has inspired your dancing, if any?

My dancing is Hawaiian-inspired but I also get a little fresh when it comes to my faster songs.

Fantastic. Finally, Ms. Del Rey, out of the three, could you rank yourself as a singer, a writer and another in a long debilitating line of talentless Internet narcissists?

I’m a writer first and a singer second.

So, you’d say another in a long debilitating line of talentless Internet narcissists third?

-Silence-

Ah yes, silence. Perhaps your finest musical achievement to date. Thank you for taking the time, Ms. Del Rey.

Reading this certainly invokes beautiful imagery of a freewheeling hippie poetess, dust on her boots and hemp push-up bras in her Channel wheelbag. But make no mistake. This is no Easy Rider, cut from purpose, utterly free, decadent, sexy, informed and self-sustained kind of hippie. This is the Coachella-going, dress-up playing, thinks free will is choosing between pink or blue cotton candy panties, Italian espresso sipping, painstakingly arranged, hippie on the weekend kind of hippie. So the real deal.

Now look, the naysayers might say that Lana hasn’t released anything good since Ultraviolence. But Germany also hasn’t lost a World War since 1946, so I think credit should be given where it’s due.

Good day.

Too bad that she doesn't take her femme fatale role into interviews. I don't care about her actual thoughts, unless they are channeled through her murderous bitch face.
