What??
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
| |
it's not the end of NIN, it's a break
| |
hahahahahahaha
| |
doesnt necessarily mean trent is done though
| |
It sounds a lot more final when you read the whole post on NIN.com, talking about the beginning and stuff like that.
| |
He's doing what the Foo Fighters are doing. It's only a break.
| |
Hasn't he taken these "breaks" 3 or 4 times already?
Doesn't sound like the end of NIN to me.
| |
ugh no.
its not true, it can't beThis Message Edited On 02.16.09

Its almost as factual as Jay-Z's retirement
| |
NIN is horrifically overrated, so YAAAAAY ^^
| |
Yeah Trent's too much of a workhorse to be done for good
| |
I've honestly never understood the appeal of this band. But lots of people love em so oh well.
| |
that's fine, he's put out so much shit, so time to listen over and over and wait until he's back.
| |
Fun for us and a different way for you to see us and wave goodbye.
| |
*jaw drops, begins to bawl*

There's almost no one in the music industry that I respect as much as Trent Reznor. When he sees the political bullshit in the record industry, he throws the finger without a care. He's a lifetime artist in every sense of the word.
I was fortunate enough to see them once, I'll definitely attend this tour.
| |
Exactly, I think everyone should see them, it's the last chance to see a legend.
| |
Break time, I think I need to finally see them live before this happens for good. Release thee DATES!
| |
seeing them in 2 weeks : D
| |
Tour sounds kickass.
And there's no way Trent's done makin music.
| |
Maybe there'll be a new project.
| |
suck it Reznor.
| |
That's a bummer for Ilan Rabin having just been hired by NIN and all.
| |
Wow. The industrial metal band that's been around longer than Yoda is dead? Wow. I'll say that again... wow.
| |
seeing them in 2 weeks : D

Even if it's the end of NIN, it doesn't say "Hi, I'm Trent Reznor and I'm done with music, so you'll never hear from me again"
| |
*waits for a band named Five Foot Feet to show up soon after their demise*
| |
lol triple F
| |
tour with Jane's Addiction shall be awesome.
End of NIN not, but I don't think Trent will stop making music. He just wouldn't be able to do that ;)
| |
He can't be finished, there'd be no real point in hiring Illan Rubin otherwise
| |
They are probably just takeing a break from touring...I doubt he will actually stop making music
| |
It was only a matter of time I feel. But yet I am certain he is too much a creative person to just rest on his laurels for the time being... More Reznor music is definitely in the pipeline!
| |
I'll be seeing NIN live this Saturday night for the first time, and i've just started getting into their music after years of writing them off.
The decision between seeing Lamb of God on Stage 4 or seeing NIN on Stage 1 at the same time is now made much easier. NIN for sure
| |
It's alright for you lot in the US, we hardly ever get to see them in Europe...I've never been able to see them...looks like I never will be able to now :-(
But then again this could just be another hiatus...it's not like he's not done anything like this before is it?
(rolls eyes)
| |
It better not be like SOAD, when no one knows if they're gone for good or notThis Message Edited On 02.17.09

SOAD left for god?
| |
The guy put out three albums, a remix album and a DVD in the past two years, as well as toured for practically the entire duration of 2005-2009. Not to mention revamping his website, starting an intensive ARG for Year Zero, leaving his label and doing a project with Saul Williams.
If the man wants a break, give him a break. With all the work Trent has done in the past, especially as of late, he's not going to just stop making music all together.

Fix'd...
| |
this is no good at all.

That's your punishment for not being American.
| |
uggh, I was really really hoping for Trent to release another masterpiece like The Downward Spiral. He hasn't released anything truly amazing since then, and I'm disappoint to shits that he's not going to.
| |
I've been listening to NIN since I was 7 or something. I have sooo much memories stored in the albums and I can't imagine a world with no more NIN releases.
| |
aNimuS has the only sensible post here.
What part of Trents post says he's done making music. He's been incredibly active for the past 4 years, now it's break time or "disappear for a while" as he said.
Bands take breaks all the time. Relax people.
| |
What part says he's continuing making music under the NIN moniker.
| |
I'm trying to decide if I should see him with Jane's Addiction.
| |
Damn.
| |
I'm trying to decide if I should see him with Jane's Addiction.
Dear God no. Jane's Addiction are awful.
| |
Finally someone agrees.
| |
Seeing them on Sunday, looking forward to it alot...it is a little ambiguous whether they're going for good or not (as a band).
| |
The guy deserves the break. Hopefully it's not permanent.

I don't think it is. I'd cry for at least a day if it is permanent
| |
lololololololol
this is really nothing to cry about
| |
this makes me sad cos i missed out on tickets. trent will be back though, no doubt about that
| |
Trent Reznor does deserve break, I just hope it's not over for good, more like between The Fragile and With Teeth break.
Maybe the break could inspire him to create another masterpiece like The Fragile
| |
Reznor really needs to take some time off. His records are really going downhill.
| |
Wizard, suck a cock and STFU.
Your life is going downhill.
