AHH. it's very different but definitely good.
sooo excited for this record. and the vocals are better imo.
|
| |
I think the vocals are worse if anything. No noticeable improvements and he's added a startlingly queer form of 'angry talking' to the mix.
But the actual music feels stronger. They're continually leaning toward sounding like a shreddier A7X but at least this actually felt like a 'song', barring some bizarre technical hiccups in the song's opening minute.
|
| |
That was kinda hard to listen to.
|
| |
Kinda sucks
|
| |
leaning toward sounding like a shreddier A7X
u almost said that as if it was a bad thing....
anyways...the cover art is frigin awesome
|
| |
Meh...not really that interesting, and the vocals are really bad.
|
| |
that was really lame, the melody for the vocals was too pop-ish and the first minute was so flashy it didn't fit.
|
| |
Wow...this song is horrid. Could be a number of things: the guitar tone, the vocals, or the structure. I could never get into this band anyways, way to much wanking (which I like most of the time) but this is like crappy wank.
|
| |
The vocalist has a good scream, but his cleans are pretty lame.
This seemed like a poppier version of something off Nocturne. Still a few cool parts going on, especially the guitar leads at 3:15.
|
| |
this band have always come off to me as a poor man's PTH
|
| |
Cocaine is just angry THA is better that PTH.
|
| |
I'm not sure if I like the switching between hard rock and metal, with the singer almost trying to emulate Michael Jackson in the beginning.
and the part part around 2:00 is not really good, along with the random talking which pisses me off.
|
| |
Cocaine is just angry THA is better that PTH.
don't go there, cause you're already wrong.
|
| |
And the vocals are definitely better than on Nocturne.
|
| |
*worse.
|
| |
And the vocals are definitely better than on Nocturne.
|
| |
They are so much better I had to double post it.
|
| |
There needs to be a competition. Who is a bigger fag, Rody of PTH or Nathan of THA.
I would say it is a dead heat.
|
| |
The vocals are better than on nocturne when you are talking about development, but all the shit he pulls here is just annoying
|
| |
I'm not sure why theyneedyou is trying so hard to bait me into an argument when everyone knows it's one he wouldn't win. Stop bringing Protest up because it's irrelevant.
And Nathan is a tool, I'm sorry. I can look over his vocal deficiencies from time to time but have you actually heard him speak? His head is way, way up his own ass.
Have you read their bio?
He's improved at parts, technique wise. But he's still singing way out of his range and is under the impression that he's versatile enough to switch on a dime, which he isn't. Furthermore, that spoken rant in the song is absolutely nauseating.
|
| |
yeah pretty much.
overall he's pretty awkward, and i'm speaking on more than one thing.
|
| |
i really didnt like this song at all
|
| |
I thought it all sounded really messy and not at all thought out. I loved Nocturne and was looking forward to this but wow..i'm not so sure about this any more.
|
| |
I really like the album artwork & the name Midheaven just counds amazing, but the song kind of seems average maybe good at the most. THA have always seemed like a band that just tries to make up for their average song writting & lyrics with other things.
|
| |
Being my first Human Abstract experience i have to say that i never want to experience the human abstract again...vocals were utter tripe and not the yummy kind
|
| |
Cocaine is just angry THA is better that PTH.
Wrong.
Song is virtually un-listenable imo.
|
| |
I am disappointed to be honest - I really thought that THA had a lot of potential after Nocturne.
The vocals on this song (which we're one of the much needed improvements on Nocturne) have definitely gotten, if anything, worse. Also, the song structure seems all over the place and the guitar tone is so odd, they almost sound like this bad 'keyboard' effect I get from my $20 effects pedal.
And... don't get me started on the lyrics.
|
| |
Cocaine is just angry THA is better that PTH.
Uh no.
This song is very different, not really a bad thing though, saves them failing against PTH. Don't see me liking this as much as Nocturne, but you never know, rest of the album could be sweet
|
| |
I gotta say the keyboard brings a really epic element to the song, although it still seems like it doesn't belong entirely. I also really like some of the guitar interaction going on. Very cool. The drummer is sadly not as good though. Still a good song and I think the album has some potential to be good.
Cocaine - as for your comments about Nathan. You're just mad because his lyrics are so intensely deep and allegory based. I'm talking multiple levels man. Do YOU know what it really means "to make it rain?" I'm sorry, but PTH would never ask such bold and thought provoking questions.
|
| |
Haha, yeah good joke there. That studio video of him talking about how deep his own lyrics are really crack me up.
|
| |
meh basically the same thing but less passion and more popish...the agreessiveness that made them good is now gone, the vocals are the same except hes useing his clean(his weaker)vocals more often. pshhh if all their songs are like that its looking 2ish.
|
| |
"I have always written in allegory, like, multiple level..type...writing. This one is kind of, uh, multi-level, like, each song has a few different meanings, and, it's the album comes in four acts. When I started trying to figure out what to do with that, like how to make four acts happen, I started looking around to uh figure out what....how many quads happened, in like, different cycles, because in the end the album is all about covering a full cycle of man, um, like i kind of feel like after reading a lot of history...that, that man goes in these very particular cycles...over and over again."
|
| |
The word 'like' used in that context should be a banable offense hahaha.
What a horrible singer. The music was nothing new or special. Sounds like a clip taken from Colours.
I'm talking multiple levels man. Do YOU know what it really means "to make it rain?" I'm sorry, but PTH would never ask such bold and thought provoking questions.
No offense dude, but thats a retarded question. And trying to make meaning out of something so gay is just......well gay. I'm not the biggest PTH fan, but I can already say, from that question the lead singer asks, that PTH at least have an interesting concept running through their albums, whether its deep or not. ... I was kidding, the _ wizard. It's okay though, because sarcasm just doesn't translate online. Although I do think this album has some potential to be good. Probably not great, but good.
|
| |
This shit sucks balls as I was expecting.
|
| |
yeah this sucked. im even going to delete their album off my itunes and lower the rating big time because i can barely even listen to it anymore

My bad man. You either catch me when I'm feelin' goofy or just feelin' like an ass.
|
| |
im not sure if i like the new song or not. its a lot different and is gonna take a while to grow on me
|
| |
To Cocaine,
Thank you for posting that. I have concluded that not only are they one of the more overrated metal acts out right now, but their vocalist is a complete moron.
|
| |
Also to Team Excelcior,
"Enemies of Khanate strung on hooks like pigs to slaughter
Heads will roll
Heads will roll, throats will be slit
and blood will flow like springs of water" >>>>>>>> ANYTHING BY THA
|
| |
the comparisons between tha and pth will never cease, will they? i like the new song personally, it grew on me. i hope they continue with heavy stuff like off of nocturne. and interestingly enough, there weren't 5000 swept arpeggios in this song.
