Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead

Actor, label owner and music video director Heath Ledger has been pronounced dead. The Oscar-nominated actor launched his record label Masses Music Co. in February of 2007, a joint-venture with Ben Harper, having previously directed the video for Harper's 'Morning Yearning.'

According to NYPD a masseuse arrived at Ledger's apartment and was let in by a housekeeper. When Ledger didn't answer his bedroom door, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened it and found him unconscious. They attempted to wake him; when they couldn't, they called 911.

We're told when paramedics responded, the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This seriously caught me off guard.
It's going to be eerie watching the new batman.

It's going to be eerie watching the new batman.

Yeah, but I'm glad they finished it, because it's going to be a great piece of acting to remember him by. I heard it's his best acting to date, and he did a super amazing job on the movie.

That said, RIP...he was an incredible actor.
And I was also going to mention that this is MUSIC news, but i was too lateThis Message Edited On 01.22.08

I'm really saddened by this. He was one of my favorite actors of all time. When I heard he was gonna be the Joker in The Dark Knight, I was just so happy. Heath, you will be missed.

Friend just told me this, I thought he was joking at first. Sucks man, he was a damn good actor -- but this is hardly music news.

RIP Heath and best wishes to his family & friends.

i wouldn't consider this to have any relevance to music but still.
This shocks the fuck out of me. I just wouldn't expect someone like him to die all of the sudden (especially of an overdose) and he was pretty young. Watching the new batman is going to be weird.
RIP

When this movie opens, I can see it breaking spider mans record.

It was getting enough hype and now this.

I would definitely be happy if it made more money than Spider Man, as those movies are waaay overrated

And it'd be just a kick ass posthumous movie.

i think what's even sader than his death is watching people debate about the fact that it isn't music news.

i think we can mostly agree most of the news on here isn't very important on a big scale. the guy is dead and people actually care so just let it be.

Just because this is a music site doesn't mean we can't talk about the big stories. Instead of hearing about a swedish death metal bands 4th guitarist leaving, this is actual news.

Aforementioned, its not music news, but I liked him as an actor. RIP.
Supposedly, he went literally insane while playing the part of The Joker. I wouldnt be surprised if he got on drugs and OD'd.

According to what I hear, Ledger's dedication and study of the role eventually led to this.
If that's true, I'm 90% sure the guy went out with a bang, career wise.
28 is way too young. RIP

I guess I'm just repeating what everyone else has already said, and yeah, this doesn't seem much like music news but, in any case...

F**k man. What a waste. Only 28? Loved him in everything I saw him in, and I've seen all of his movies except Brother's Grimm. Gonna miss him...
Got a feeling he played one hell of a Joker. Dark Knight's gonna be sweet.

Iced Earth's guitarist gets arrested and convicted of kidnapping, rape, and torture, both long after he leaves the band. Everyone won't shut up about it.

Heath Ledger dies, and even though he owned his own record lable and directed music videos (meaning he was involved in music and the recording industry), it somehow doesn't qualify as music news.

I know this goes without saying, but I really hate stupid people.
