i just think about how he was at the lowest point in his life and suddenly died. everything leading up to this makes it even more heartbreaking. i remember eagerly awaiting his input on noise stuff since he was one of the only people here that likes it. i've already grieved, but now i'm just confused.

Very sad to hear this. I ran across a reddit post featuring him and had no idea that there was a connection to here. Seemed to be a very talented noise artist and a great contributor to the site.

As I am sure many of the community are aware, Ryan had struggled with depression and other mental health challenges for a long time. What was probably less known is that he had a significant history of physical illnesses, as well. Through all of his mental and physical challenges he kept up the good fight, but in the end his physical body is what gave up. Feel free to share if you feel it would be helpful for both those who are concerned about Ryan and for others who may find themselves battling similar challenges."

Could not agree with this more. It is a small comfort that he found joy in this place. I truly hope he is at peace. RIP this is so, so sad. I joined the same year as him and we are the same age. This is sobering news for sure.

if there's anyone with the ability to fix the account creation issue...this might be a reminder of what Sputnik means to people. in real life, beyond the blogosphere. I think we've all made great friendships here and want to keep sharing that joy.

All we can do is hold on hope that it’ll get fixed, in the meantime I’m going to enjoy the dedication of this small community as if it were a small up and coming site and cherish its flaws as such

yeah now i can't listen to goregrind without thinking of thycrossawaits. its really surreal and heartbreaking to know that i dude that i paid a lot of attention to is really gone.

because of him i got into Sulfuric Cautery from his last list, and checked out Killing Spree. now I'm actually trying out Last Days of Humanity and giving goregrind another chance. it's sticking more this time around. he for sure has helped me explore more extreme music and noise. also, his last soundoff was a harsh noise album that i wrote down to check before he died. it's brutal that he's not there to make lists or anything anymore.
