He lived 140 years in those 76.
RIP

So happy he had an incredible send-off just a couple weeks ago. RIP to the legend.
|
| |
rip to a genuine legend.
|
| |
@LightAndGlass agreed. Almost too good to be true.
|
| |
RIP
Gotta jam Sabotage in his honor
|
| |
Still cannot fathom that he is gone, may he rest in peace 😠
|
| |
Will jam his music all week
|
| |
Ozzy went out on top with that farewell show.
The hardest RIP to an absolute legend.
|
| |
Thank you for everything Ozzy. RIP
|
| |
Hard RIP.
|
| |
The Ozzman cometh, and the Ozzman leave-eth.
An original that will never be replaced, and never be forgotten. Thank you for the music Ozzy.
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
Huge loss, massive RIP to the godfather of heavy metal. Truly a legend amongst legends.
Thank you for all you've done Ozzy.
|
| |
RIP to a legend
|
| |
Time to slam the s/t. RIP
|
| |
Honestly cried a little when I learned, he seemed genuinely immortal
RIP, I straight up can't think of any person more legendary
|
| |
RIP legend, what a fucking amazing life and legacy.
|
| |
So sad… I didn’t think Ozzy would ever die… I especially didn’t figure just a short time later after the concert they just did that he would be gone. I’m really glad I got to watch that show and see them in person at Lolla… RIP Ozzy
|
| |
Hardest of RIPs of course.
|
| |
there will never be another ozzy or even close. he was larger than life. devastating rip. i'm truly so sad.
|
| |
R.I.P. to the Prince of Darkness! thanks for all the legendary music that helps to make life more bearable and gets me through the though times.
|
| |
your favorite band doesn’t exist without this man
Pour one out for the prince
|
| |
Yep one of the hardest RIPs in metal. Maybe the hardest
|
| |
a day we all knew was coming but none were ready for
|
| |
Never really got into his music personally, but none can dispute the insane impact he had in the rock/metal world. Big RIP and he went out in the best possible way with that last show.
|
| |
Helped changed the musical landscape forever. Icon. Hardest RIP
|
| |
First Brian Wilson and now Ozzy, man what a miserable couple months it’s been
|
| |
Sly Stone too ):
|
| |
Yes! How could I forget
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
love him and all he did. raise a glass tonight
|
| |
I've been on a Black sabbath binge since their amazing festival and I was just relistening to 13 with those lyrics that hit me before I knew he passed away: "I don't want to live forevere...
But I don't want to... diiiie "
Hard RIP, I'm still sad and shocked, he definitely changed my musical journey !
|
| |
What a sendoff, as if he was holding on for the show. Managed to raise 200 million for charity too.
Goodnight sweet prince of darkness
Without which there's a very real possibility that many of our favorite bands wouldn't exist as they do
|

These are words I never thought I'd hear.
We're all mortal, but damn Ozzy just always seemed like someone who would be here forever.
Rest in Darkness King
|
| |
rip
|
| |
(Cleared because I was a dork and double clicked and couldn't wait the 10 seconds)
|
| |
76! This guy is a true warrior for what he did! Biting bats and just being a reality star and what he did with music and everything! I remember at my work a decade and a half ago kidding with people how if Ozzy Osbourne is still alive, so can I. I was being overly emotional there.
Just it did feel like as CaliggyJack said he was going to live forever and I know 76 isn't forever. Damn that's still a good run to the finish.
|
| |
Finally joins his lost brother Randy ;~;
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
I would put the video of Osbourne's collaboration with Lita Ford in that news item as well.
IF I CLOSE MY EYES FOREVER
WILL IT ALL REMAIN THE SAME?
RIP...
|
| |
Ozzy was an absolute legend. RIP
|
| |
RIP. Went out as an absolute legend.
|
| |
Rest in peace you legend.
|
| |
This one is really tough. Shouldnt be a big shock with his overall health and all, but man what a loss. Words will not suffice summing up how much this man and his music and influenced me since childhood and listening to it with friends and going to concerts etc. The message from Bill Ward escpacially made me feeling kind of emotional reading it at work this morning. RIP and the music will live on forever
|
| |
[2] what Lasssie has said.
I'm still in shock... one of the founding fathers of metal has passed away...
|
| |
Without the Prince of Darkness the world will be a lot dimmer
A normal bloke who went completely off the rails and somehow kept it all together right until the end.
The music will live on.
RIP
|
| |
Saw the original 4 Sabbath, 20 years ago at Ozzfest. RIP.
|
| |
the goated of the goats left the building. phenomenal career and personality. Can't imagine anyone being more influential on the heavy metal scene than ozzy next to Tony. Hardest of rips to the prince of darkness
|
| |
RIP hard. You was one the great rock music legends.
|
| |
Never thought I'd see the day. RIP to a true icon.
|
| |
So happy i experienced Sabbath on their last tour and will be jamming both Ozzy and BS this week and onward to process this
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
I saw this in the Metal Archives' farewell post. This single sentence says it all:
"None of us would be here, creating, enjoying and celebrating heavy metal, without him and Black Sabbath."
|
| |
A Prince of Darkness, with a voice so grim,
From Sabbath's dawn, to a solo whim.
"Iron Man" he stalked, through fields of fear,
"War Pigs" cried out, for all to hear.
"Paranoid" thoughts, a mind astray,
"Crazy Train" derailed, come what may.
"Mr. Crowley" called, from shadowed halls,
"Mama, I'm Coming Home," when darkness falls.
"No More Tears," a river of pain,
"Bark at the Moon," again and again.
A madman's laughter, a shriek and a wail,
Ozzy's legacy, an enduring tale.
Rest in Peace King of Darkness.
|
| |
One of my first loves in heavy metal music, RIP sweet prince of darkness.
|
| |
I was jamming Demonic Death Judge earlier this week and it still hits me just how straight a line you can draw from Master of Reality to almost any modern doom/stoner/sludge band.
|
| |
WHAT IS THIS THAT STAAAAANNNNDDDSSS BEFORE MEEEEEEEEEEEE
|
| |
farewell to one of the best. such a full life. singing and rocking until the end.
|
| |
This has had me pretty broken up. Not unexpected, but still tragic.
Glad he got to do a proper send-off before passing, RIP Ozzy.
|
| |
"officially passed away"
|
| |
RIP the prince of darkness, one of the best frontmen of all time. What a life lived. His autobiography is quite a read btw.
|
| |
RIP, I literally had a dream the night before he died that he was my dentist for some reason lmao. And he did a good job on my teeth.
|
| |
He was your tooth fairy but you never knew
|
| |
I'm glad the original lineup of Black Sabbath was able to play together one more time. RIP Ozzy.
|
| |
Fuck.
This.
Year.
|
| |
they said white ppl lost their tupac and to check in on their mental health lol
|
| |
His legacy will live forever.
RIP Legend
|
| |
So happy he got on stage once last time.
RIP
|
| |
Rest easy king.
|
| |
RIP hard. He was a great vocalist as far as I'm concerned and a really nice bloke in general. Glad I got to see Sabbath about 6-7 years ago
|
| |
nothing but Black Sabbath for the rest of the year m/
RIP hard x1000
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
What a legend. He's been incredibly influential on metal. R.I.P. Prince of Darkness
|
| |
RIP to the real legend.
|
| |
I logged in for the first time in 5 years just to say... RIP Ozzy
|
| |
Holy shit 2001 join date 😮
|
| |
Bro joined this website before it even existed lmao
|
| |
IIRC in 2001, this site (originally MXtabs) already had a discussion forum, music news articles, Napster was covered a lot, lots of guitar tabs, bass tabs, & polls. Wild people are still coming back from that era.
R.I.P Ozzy. A top memory for me was seeing Sabbath here on their 2013 & 2014 tours with my dad. He was a fanatic but the classic lineup never toured here in their heyday, so it was a dream come true. Ozzy was my gateway to metal, Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon, Hellraiser among the first metal songs I ever got into. Always love the man, and the guitarists too. Glad he could have such a farewell show before the end.
|
| |
This feels like a surreal death
In truth his very presence always felt immortal, as if he was intended to be this immutable being. I'm glad he had such an honorable send off.
|
| |
RIP Ozzy. I wouldn't have any of my favorite metal bands without you. Paranoid was one of the first songs I learned how to play when I started playing bass many years ago.
|
| |
I'm sad Ozzy and his music has been with me for over 35 years, I've never stopped listening to him, thank you for everything Ozzy, without Black Sabbath and Ozzy, metal wouldn't be where it is today, rest in peace, Legend
|
| |
Hardest RIP possible.
|
| |
Incredible way to end it for him, happy indeed it could be this way. Absolute legend.
|
| |
RIP
