"Never heard a man speak like this man before"
Pretty standard Chevelle stuff, some cool riffs, but nothing really special.
|
| |
What a fun banger!
|
| |
I remember Pete saying this new album was so heavy that he didn’t think “Chevelle fans would like it”
These are both pretty standard Chevelle songs. Love the band, but kinda meh on these
|
| |
Disappointed this wasn't a Dipset collab
|
| |
Genuinely thought this said Jim James from My Morning Jacket lol
|
| |
sounds like 2006 Chevelle song that came out in 2015
not bad though, just wish they'd experiment more
|
| |
Definitely thought this meant Jim Jones the rapper. Awful rapper but a rapper nonetheless.
|
| |
I personally like the new songs. The most consistent band in whatever the fuck you categorize Chevelle as lol. They do what they do and excel at it. If you didn't like Chevelle before, these tracks aren't going to change your mind.
|
| |
"Disappointed this wasn't a Dipset collab"
LMFAOOO same. My eyes got wide as fuck when I saw the article title like "Ooooo what are these two cooking?"
|
| |
Never liked them. Ultra-predictable songwriting. This band was always mediocre.
|
| |
I liked them when I was younger but yeah they’re def one of those bands that just doesn’t hold up, and it doesn’t really help that it never seems like they switched anything up. Every single I’ve heard from these guys sounds like it could’ve been on Wonder What’s Next
|
| |
Typical Chevelle song, not bad.
|
| |
Thought it was Jon Jones at first
|
| |
I thought it was Mike Jones
|
| |
His falsetto vocal inflections on this track sass ahrd
|
| |
sucks
|
| |
damn i thought it was jimmy john's and got hungry as hell
|
| |
First time I can say I'm not excited for new Chevelle whatsoever.
|
| |
not gonna listen til album drops but i saw both jim jones and chevelle live separately last summer. lotta turnt up middle aged women at both i'll tell u that.
|
| |
Both new songs are really good. Chevelle are THE most consistent band in rock. If you didn’t like them before, you won’t like them now. I really don’t understand the disappointment in these new songs, they’re Chevelle for sure but they’ve not gone stale, Pete seems to be pushing his vocals further than before with this track in particular
|
| |
much better than the first single. super same-y band sure but you know what you're getting. this one at least has beefy riffs
|
| |
"I thought it was Mike Jones"
Who?
|
| |
Both singles rule. Can't wait for another 3.8 record from these guys
Band has always rocked
|
| |
I thought it said Jeffery jones, the actor lol
|
| |
Who?
MIKE JONES!!! 281-330-8004
|
| |
Cool aid? With a C? Were you never a child?
|
| |
I really don’t like the falsetto yelping he does here. Didn’t like the song on first listen but it’s growing on me
|
| |
Thank you Emim damn that took too long
|
| |
Fo fos im tippin wood grain im grippin
|
| |
Needs moar David Karesh
|
| |
I don't like being a basic ass hater, but who tf hears this and is like, "yea I really want to hear that again"?
|
| |
Back then hoes didn't want me, now I'm hot hoes all on me
Back then hoes didn't want me, now I'm hot hoes all on me, I said

The way he says with a little bit of dick had me rolling.

"Chevelle are THE most consistent band in rock. If you didn’t like them before, you won’t like them now."
It's crazy how true this is. The last Chevelle album I really got into was Hats Off, and then for some reason I never checked out anything afterward. And yet this sounds like it could have come out right after that album. I'm quite digging both singles.
|
| |
These singles really aren't doing it for me
|
| |
One of the, if not the, best bands in the genre, and have been for a long time. On a pedestal for the consistency and respectability album after album.
I liked Rabbit Hole a lot. This one kinda sucks though, just incredibly boring. I’m sure there’ll be at least one or two more good ones though on the album, and possibly many more.
|
| |
Was like who tf uses Jim Jones as a stage name then realized it was THAT Jim Jones.
And then I realized that there actually is a rapper who goes by Jim Jones.
What a ride.
|
| |
@ArteNovecento I had written off Hats off upon first listen back then I was super unimpressed with it. I think I was maybe hoping for something different. I had really liked the change in direction on Sc-Fi. After recently listening to Hats off I realized how wrong I was to judge that album as just another Chevelle record. It's an excellent encapsulation of their discography up to that point. It's now one of my favorites from them. The North Corridor is probably my least favorite, maybe tied with Point #1 in my personal list.
|
| |
Both songs have grown on me a lot. I hope the rest of the album has lyrics as good as these two. Didn’t expect Chevelle to become a political band but they are doing it better than anyone ever has possibly.
|
| |
Can't say I blame them - I guess nowadays there's a lot of reason to be angry about politics.
|
| |
There's a song on the album called AI Phobias and I'm extra excited for that one.
|
| |
Pretty good. I'd give it a 3.8
