New ex-Wrens project

2023-10-06 by judasgoat | 12 Comments
Charles Bissell, co-frontman of The Wrens, has finally announced new music. It comes in the form of new project Car Colors. The first single "Old Death" has been released for preorder via the newly relaunched Absolutely Kosher Records. Set to include Charles' contributions to the mothballed Wrens album, the Car Colors album is slated for an early 2024 release.

Preorders for the digital and 12" single can be found here: https://carcolors.bandcamp.com/album/old-death

Charles has also posted a blog regarding the circumstances leading to the creation of the album, how he navigated the band implosion and an attempt at reissuing The Meadowlands here: https://www.carcolors.net/news/happyannounceday

Notably, the other Wrens bandmates have issued a response to Pitchfork regarding The Wrens' current status, reading as follows:

"Though Charles has decided to leave the band, it does not mean that the band has broken up. 3/4 of The Wrens continue to work together writing, recording music, and playing shows as Aeon Station. Who knows what the future may hold for The Wrens.

The other Wrens wish Charles success on his solo project. Thank you to everyone who has supported the band through the years."

lmao wines

think with this NFT thing it's more a case of misdirected enthusiasm

i remembered speaking to him yeaaaars ago when the wrens new album was announced (one of the times) and he spoke of trying to do a sort of wu-tang selling the album to one person type thing, and i guess NFTs give the avenue to do something different

still guyyyyyys get excited guys
