Song fuckin slaps
| |
No way I ll listen and fuck the 3 first tracks from this. Dug both previous singles. I hold on untill April 30th.

| |
Basically it only takes users saying "Song fuckin slaps" to get me going
| |
It really doesn't though. Weakest of the 3 for me
| |
Isn't it the second single?
| |
Idk I liked it a lot more than Born for One Thing
Main riff goes ham and the digiridoo was a nice touch too
| |
^^ No, third. Born for One Thing and Another World are in the wild too
Edit: Did dig the didgeridoo
| |
Yes notrap, Another World was the first one. Awesome videoclip.
| |
I completely forgot about the song that came out last year.
| |
Oh shit
| |
Ok, I fucked up. Song is good. My b
| |
Slaps
| |
a little meh honestly...damn
| |
Song is ok ish as expected, Born For One Thing it's the best so far to me but even that one wasn't that strong
| |
Kinda boring
| |
video makes up for any misgivings I had about the song
| |
Meh Gojira is starting to sound like Gojira painting/playing by numbers
| |
I thought the first minute or so was pretty darn cool and then it went absolutely bloody nowhere. Really not optimistic for this new one.
| |
im gonna join the slaps club. Song slaps!
| |
If you think this sounds like Gojira by numbers your mind is too far gone to save.
| |
I love the song, great ethnic vibe. [4.2]
| |
That was very okay...the digerydoo is cool but the song goes absolutely bloody nowhere [2] and then just kind of ends like even they weren't sure if it was over
| |
Disagree that it goes nowhere but the fadeout is dumb yeah
| |
The ending grabs the beginning. It's a loop, I dig it. The credits soundtrack may just be in the video.
| |
"video makes up for any misgivings I had about the song"
The video it's actually well done, but the song on itself is lacking
| |
this is poopy
| |
They just need to release another Heaviest Matter and then we'll be good heh
| |
could never get the appeal of the band, honestly
| |
"digerydoo"
that wasn't a digeridoo it sounded like a mouth harp.
| |
Yeah, it was a jew harp
| |
It’s just their evolution but their earth shattering days are over. Pun not intended.
| |
Not my favorite of the singles so far, but it's definitely a slow burner. Very much looking forward to the album, last single was a banger.
| |
It's actually neither instruments, it's a berimbau
Song is good! Sounds like a Gojipultura.
| |
And here I thought I knew my non-european instruments, damn 😔
| |
Is this a 90s Sepultura outtake?
| |
berimbau is used mostly in Capoeira, which is a Brazilian fight/dance and it was what was used here, since the song is about their forest. Surely not a jewharp
| |
"It’s just their evolution but their earth shattering days are over."
Yeah i mean, they released three 5's in a row, i could not ask more from them, their drive and approach in music is kind of expected to change as time goes
| |
true dat dave! Why are we always trying for bands to be something we want (Which is also often the same shit over and over), and not let them be whatever they want and try to learn something out of it?
| |
"It’s just their evolution but their earth shattering days are over."
yea, The Ocean have taken up that mantle in full force
| |
"The video it's actually well done, but the song on itself is lacking"
Definitely agreed, the video absolutely elevates the track, and the song and MV together deliver a strong message, but I'm not sure how much I will return to this track after the fact. It's a nice "spectacle" on the first time through, but I don't think the replay value will be there.
| |
true MO lol and they have't reached the whales yet...
| |
I thought the first minute or so was pretty darn cool and then it went absolutely bloody nowhere [3]
a little meh honestly...damn [2]
| |
This song was pretty boring but im still stoked to hear the whole record. I think they’ve gone a bit too traditional verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus in a lot of their songs and it takes away the wow factor a lot for me. The last single was still sick tho
| |
Track has grown on me a bit, riffs have got stuck in my head tbh and the chorus hits quite hard.
Still a bit aimless at times though, album has potential to be their worst unfortunately.
Born for One Thing has been the best song released.
| |
that bridge tho
| |
or should i say bridgeridoo
| |
this is actually a very important subject whats happening in the amazon is pretty insane
| |
How could you possibly criticise this bands music when they write about such pressing issues?????
| |
"yea, The Ocean have taken up that mantle in full force"
Very pleased to see The Ocean garnering so much notoriety in recent years, and I could not agree more about them taking up Gojira's earth-shattering mantle
| |
bridgeridoo [2]
| |
This is more like it, the fade out is fucking whack but this is pretty good. This single brings the groove, Another World brought the sick riff, still have fun playing it. The second riff was weak, two out of three, not bad.
| |
All three singles rock.
| |
Max Cavalera gives a nod of approval
| |
Vocals remind me of Killing Joke. Solid, not totally sold on these changes but the video was fantastic.
| |
bridgeridoo vs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy1B3agGNxw
who wins
| |
Man this goes hard. Best of the singles so far.
| |
Dudes, its a berimbau.
Don t make me check this before the album just to clear that up.
| |
i like it
| |
bridgerimbau
| |
The song begged to do something heavier in the middle or end. It was okay though.
| |
I really like these three songs better than the singles from Magma and I really like Magma. These three from Fortitude foretell a diverse, yet still heavy hitting album. Once you get past that they aren't going to write another TWOAF it's all easier to take in. Gojira writes cool music and they are one of the best.
| |
"bridgerimbau" LMAO
| |
why do these tracks sound soooo much better on small headphones?
| |
low OHMS?
| |
All I want is those big Vacuity sounds again.
| |
Born For One Thing gave us a little glimpse of Heaviest Matter's riff, but I don't see any of those sounds truly coming back again. Gonna aim for a more ethereal kind of listen, me thinks.
| |
Hopefully this will be better than Ohms. Still gotta check the second and third single
| |
I meant Ohms as the measure for impedance on headphones (not the album). If I were you I'd wait for the 30th.
| |
Ah, yea, lol, I got that wrong haha
You mean not listening to the singles, right? I could do that and check something else from their back catalogue. I actually never listened to a whole Gojira album
| |
You're missing out some sick shit then, from Terra to Flesh it's all fire
| |
I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things. Checking out Gojira and King Crimson are just two of many itches I never come around to scratching them. Gotta do it some day. A new album might be the right thing to make me do it though
| |
KC overall is 2 albums worthy and discog prog addict. You must check Red and Court. Now if you dig Mastodon and Tool f.e. Gojira is a must do discog run, but sure, if you re diggin it, don t torture yourself.
| |
King Crimson has like 1.5 good albums so
| |
At least 2 iconic and awesome albums. Please someone call Canadian police (wait there is one?) and get bloc arrest.
| |
I am the police
| |
*throws the stash out the window*
| |
That boing boing riff is almost goofy sounding, but the song itself is awesome. Really getting into these guys lately
| |

https://propeller.la/gojira
These guys are going hard to save the Amazon. Metallica, Slayer, BMTH, etc. all joined the cause. I’ll be donating meeself mm hhm
| |
Good song, I liked last single more but this one is solid too. And King Crimson has more than 1 good album btw.
