Song is pretty cool, love how their vocalist keeps sounding better with every release. Production sounds a lot more lively than last record (which was robotic as fuck). Hyped for a new record from these guys

I don't mind any disrespect when I say this but i wonder what really happened at Sumerian Records. Back in 2010 it seem like it was going to be a powerhouse, signing some of the biggest new bands on the scene. !0 years later I can't think of one of those bands who stayed relevant and "made it". the kinda dilemma that keeps you up at night i guess. Song is okay, i am definitely looking forward to more from them

CMC offered waaaay more than that. So did Eclipse. And the songs on their first 3 albums were written waaay better than a majority of their new shit. VoM turned into Periphery-lite after Eclipse. There's nothing interesting about their songs now because it feels like there's a dozen more bands on Sumerian using the same formula they are.

Eh I would say Eclipse is their weakest album, or Matriarch. Even many songs on id are subpar when compared to heaters like Pool Spray, Fracture, Follow Me etc.

Idk, it's weird; I grew up on metal, but I just haven't heard much new music in that vein that engages me and feels authentic in a while.

The pre-chorus/chorus worked sonically, but doesn't really activate anything in my head or heart as much as mimic grandiosity.

The riff after the first chorus kind of sounds like a kid playing with a preset electric guitar sample bank. :x Fracture was better than this.
You can only use the semi-tone apart dissonance / whammy pedal combo in so many riffs after like 7 albums...

Lukas lyrics and performance is my favorite part of the song, the riffs etc. seem like an afterthought, which isn't that bad of a thing in my book

Melodic parts were fine, riffs were the same dissonant chugging riffs we've heard a millions times by them already.

Overall it's decently fun stuff but nothing more.
