Preferred the first single more. Still looking forward to the rest of the record.

Lmao at that album title. Still pumped for some noodly pretentious proggy metal though. I absolutely love these guys.
| |
slaps big time. first single was solid but really liking this one more. pumped for the whole album cuz these dudes are one of my fav bands
| |
Consider me bought. I might have to re-listen to their last one.
| |
Don't think their vocals have ever sounded quite this shitty before
| |
yea lmao that's the thing, seems like this'll have their worst vocal work
| |
I was thinking the same when the vocals kicked on. What happened? Other than that it's pretty solid.
| |
vox are a lil weird on the first single but the new one theyre fine idk what yall talkin bout
| |
it's an age thing I bet, Dunable kinda abandoned improving on harsh vocals long ago
| |
i thought the complaints were for dave's vocals. like the chorus for cubensis. the regular harsh vox (how little there are) seem the same to me?
| |
The harsh vox also sound a bit worse to me, comparing to their last album. Idk, maybe the loss of six million layers of reverb to cover the vox isn't quite doing them justice.
| |
These new singles seem kind of flavorless tbh. Im not sure if its due to the original drummer leaving or what. Also I miss the thick, dynamic bass grooves from the Valley of Smoke days...
| |
This is better than the first single.
| |
Album cover is just the last one but blue/green.
| |
the last album was just prehistoricisms cover but red
:thonking:
| |
Owch

omg this. sasha especially sounds like the most phoning in of vocals I've ever heard. not too jazzed for this after the first two singles...it's definitely missing something
| |
I've gotta be honest both these singles are pretty meh.
Songwriting doesn't feel as organic as their past work, a little forced tbh.
Rudinger is a beast but they definitely lost someone special with their last drummer, like MO said can't put my finger on it exactly I'm just not vibing with the new songs that much.
| |
The drumming is ridiculous in the final couple of minutes of the song.
| |
I've got to say, I see where the producer was going with this but it's just not good. Vox are way too dry, it sounds raw in all the wrong ways and even the psychadelics at the end don't quite achieve that hallucinogenic affect the way they clearly intended. Really flat and takes a lot of the energy out of the composition (which is ok).
| |
The vocals tho.
| |
Yeah they're shaky to say the least.
| |
I like the vox on this more than the first single but they are definitely still weird.
| |
let's be straight, they don't sound weird, they just flat out sound bad on these new songs
| |
yall wild
| |
Agreed
| |
Wild upset they sound so off lol
| |
I liked it. The only problem I hear is that the new drummer doesn't know how to handle the melodic sections as well as Danny. He had a very unique style to him and worked perfectly with Joe.
