what's the opposite of 'wild', but not completely? like a word that describes one's lack of excitement, but still maintains that one is going to listen for completionism's sake.

It's strange because this band is so relatively bland compared to what I usually listen to, and yet I am always intrigued by what they come up with...

hopes & fears and under the iron sea shaped a lot of my childhood so i'm probably more intrigued by a new keane album than i should be. song sounds deliciously outdated

they had surprisingly good tracks as specials for that best of compilation record a few years back (Russian Farmer Song comes to mind)

It's just okay but these guys always have a hidden gem or 2 per album so we're good

From an outsider's perspective, it's interesting to see how public opinion on Keane has changed since it became known that the vocalist had substance abuse issues. This song sucks ass, and I've never really listened to or cared about Keane, but they undeniably had some quality songs, and the vocalist has a great voice (not showcased here). They were considered a force to be reckoned with by radio presenters and media in general, but they instantly became something derisive and now that's the public voice.

I just about missed these dudes in childhood, thought this was quite good though.

It's a shame, this is so uninspired compared to their earlier bangers. Hope the rest of the album is more interesting.

I adore Hopes and Fears but haven't really dug anything else by these guys. This is no exception.

Source, it's not really a 'whoops' situation, Keane were absolutely huge in the UK for bloody ages. Now they're coming back, I'm sure they'll still get massive radio play and sales. Instead of wiping his tears away with 50s, he's wiping them away with 20s. Ain't a 'ting, bruv.
