Garbage
| |
Steak you're wrong.
It's worse than garbage.
| |
One of the most boring songs they've ever recorded, and that's saying something.
| |
Really bad song, sounds like a B-side from That's the Spirit.
| |
hey can you take this linkin park cover band back to whatever time machine you got it from and throw it tf back to 2004 thaaaaaaaanks
https://i.4pcdn.org/tv/1406155126106.jpg
| |
That scream LOL
| |
Nah this is way worse than TTS
| |
The amount of people in the YT comments actually saying they like this is astounding. This is dog shit lol
| |
Mars Mantra >>> this song
Also, I can't wait to see the bots/alts from the ''That's the Spirit'' thread to appear here and post stuff like ''Don't lie to yourselves guys, this is SOTY-worthy!!!111''.
| |
I fell asleep 3 times while listening to this
| |
Damn. Disappointing. TTS is half amazing and half garbage though.. so if that trend continues hopefully this song goes in the garbage corner =/
| |
It's ridiculous, but I don't hate this as much I hated Drown, even though this could easily fit on That's the Spirit. Maybe my expectations are lowered enough. I still think Suicide Season and There Is a Hell are their best, though.
| |
I liked TTS quite a bit, but I'm not sure I like this much. Seriously what is up with that automated voice saying "Mantra"?? Hopefully this turns out to be one of the worst songs off the album
| |
Wow this band somehow continues to find a way to dig under their previous lows each time around.
| |
Drown is superior to this shit in literally every way imaginable.
This song does not compare to the actual solid tunes off TTS like Doomed, Avalanche, and Drown. It's on par with the garbage filler on that album though.
| |
The sadness will never end
| |
This just seemed really bland
| |
better than expected
| |
Worse than expected
| |
Sounds like the sound Toothgrinder went for on their last album, except way way way worse.
| |
Band has been in the shitter for too long.
| |
i'll never understand how these guys achieved their level of fame
| |
no/5
| |
Its not that bad
| |
Ooh, interesting
| |
My main problem is the dog turd mix. It could be decent if the guitars were given a bit of punch and depth but they're so sterile.
| |
As someone who thinks Thats The Spirit was actually good, I gotta say. This shit right here my nigga? This shit right here? STRAIGHT DUMPSTER JUICE.
| |
Whoever mixed this needs to get chopped in the fuckin neck. Production is straight trash.
| |
what jeet said
wowee
| |
That’s the spirit b-side.
| |
lmao Jeet
| |
Ehh it's kinda boring but not terrible. Production brings it down for sure.
| |
Not as bad as it could be, but I can already tell it's gonna go over well with our local assrock radio station
| |
god this so bad
What makes me sad is that Sempiternal was actually enjoyable, and I thought they were heading towards something cool but NOPE
| |
that chorus is nice but the rest is just ughhhh
| |
Why is it that in metalcore, a newly blonde metalcore vocalist and shitty new music go hand in hand...
However, I will say that the song isn't as bad as I thought it would be although the little spoken word bits and hand claps are ass.
| |
Yeah as I was saying, the song could have been much better with some decent production and at least a competent mix. Guitars could have been beefier, vocals didn't need to be so artificially corrected and prominent in the mix. Bass could have been audible.
| |
I really wanted this to be good.
| |
Is this named after the power from One Piece?
I actually dig it though.
| |
Its a fine pop/rock song. I like it. It's fine for what it is.
| |
Well, that was terrible.
| |
I liked some of the stuff on That's the Spirit, but this is some cheeks for real.
| |
Jeet I’m fuckin dead lol. Yeah listening to this more than three times honestly felt like a chore. Production is absolute ass
| |
I liked it a lot. This style works for them. Love that “before the truth will set you free, it will piss you off” line.
| |
Sempiternal and There Is a Hell are 5/5 compared to this. It is what it is, but it definitely lacks in the emotional and production side of things.
| |
That "scream" LMAO
| |
No me gusta
| |
FUCK SYKES HE IS A SHIT VOX SHITTY BAND MAKES SHITTY musick
| |
Even Pray for Plagues redeems itself over this bollox
| |
All of their releases' production quality is bad.
| |
There's a Hell... has a great production, you nutter.
| |
This is horrible.
| |
Even worse than expected.
| |
Well, this might come down to preference, but the guitars on There Is a Hell... sound too mushy to me. Sometimes it's like a wall of sound, where many riffs get lost or are hardly audible in the mix. (I have a quality setup, so that's not the issue.) I much prefer Suicide Season's crisper guitars.
| |
riffs hard
| |
That "before the truth will set you free" line is straight out of the opening of "Lemon" by N.E.R.D...and I'm sure it's been used before that. Either way it lacks authenticity and reeks of fake-deep
| |
So apparently the album is called "Amo" (whatever that means) and drops on January 11
| |
They said in the interview this song is really different to what they've done before, so I was expecting something stupidly similar to TTS, and it was. whenever a band like this says their next LP is gonna be so different, it sounds like exactly what came before. That being said this reeks of a safe single, so maybe whatever comes next will be a lil' more out there
| |
Why is this riff so boring tho
| |
Oli sounds so fucking disinterested in this, the vocals sound so dull and lifeless.
| |
This band is finished
| |
I wanted to like this, I really did.
| |
mediocre vomit
| |
im a bmth stan but it's time they changed things up again. i don't want sempiternal part 3
| |
im a btmi stan too where's my scrambles 10-year anniversary tour bich
| |
Oh man the YT comment section for this gave me a real hoot.
| |
So fucking bad.
| |
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
| |
Can we take a second to appreciate that There is a hell iv seen it There is a heaven lets keep it a secret abluum had some bangers on it. It never ends still gets me pretty pumped. This is radio rock haha
| |
“I don’t want Sempiternal part 3”
Where the fuck is part 2? Hell I’d love for a part 2 of that album. Or are you actually insinuating TTS was anything like Sempiternal. TTS was good but def not semp part 2
| |
"So apparently the album is called "Amo" (whatever that means) and drops on January 11 "
Amo means "I love" in Spanish, think that's what they're going for?
| |
I didn't care about their change on the last record, but this is horrible
| |
I don’t hate it. Don’t particularly like it either, but still, it’s okay
| |
I seriously hope that the album art I've seen so far isn't the actual album art
| |
This is pretty good, attack me.
| |
Absolutely the most boring pile of shit possible
| |
ass.
| |
Ooh. Love Nu Metal riffs!
| |
Don't hate the song but not one of their best. Would love to hear some Sempiternal sounding tracks on the album.
| |
what kind of person wants to hear this in 2018
| |
I seriously hope that the album art I've seen so far isn't the actual album art [2]
| |
This is good.
| |
riffs hard
[2] hard tbh
| |
You guys just have to let this SOAK
| |
That album cover loooool this band.
| |
no
| |
How the money likes this band.
| |
not excited tbh
| |
I'm withholding any judgement until the album is released. 'Mantra' follows a similar format to That's the Spirit. It sounds pretty basic overall. I wouldn't find myself listening to it often.
| |
I think the song is catchy but Oli's auto tune ruins it. Also, what the hell is with the crappy sounding guitars?
| |
Yeah this isn't very good.
Some cuck in the local shitcore scene in my city said this is a banger and everyone else is wrong and I had to resist commenting with every fiber of my being.
| |
Bad Omens, aka BMTH 2.0 just released a new single and its everything this should have been. Shits on this garbage in every possible way. Embarrassing when a different band does your style better than you
| |
"Oli sounds so fucking disinterested in this, the vocals sound so dull and lifeless."
this is him basically in all of TTS Drown aside
| |
Sto phating on nu metal bud
| |
Little nitpicking, Bad Omens is Sempiternal era BMTH 2.0, but I know you meant that, just wanted to clear it up, meant no offense.
And I don't know, that new Bad Omens song is (along with their first album) awfully average in my eyes, just like Sempiternal. Certainly listenable, but I don't do it if I don't have to. Boring background music material for me.
| |
average
| |
Remember when this band was a half decent deathcore band?
| |
Really underwhelming, and very worrisome that this is the song they chose as their “comeback”.
TIAH, Sempiternal and SS are great. TTS was spotty as hell. A few great songs, but quite a few bad ones.
I’ve got a bad feeling about this album, but I’ll reserve judgment til I hear the album.
| |
Bad omens is solid but they are by no means bmth 2.0. Nothing they have made comes close to sempi and ss
| |
Like their last album only this isn't even catchy lol, prettty bad
| |
And jeez that production is horrible, so compressed and squashed, the guitars sound like a preset
| |
I made this when I was bored this morning. 10 year anniversary tour for suicide season would be sweeeeeet.
https://imgur.com/gallery/JfnRpx3
| |
Doesn't Oli sound bad in live performances recently though?
That DWP logo hahahaha. Good job my man.
| |
"Mantra!" lol.
last good song they did was 'follow you' though, this could grow on me...
| |
@Ripping I dont have a big enough following on social media to make an impact, but had a lot of private messages asking if it was real all day today after just casually hashtagging it and posting it on my personal instagram haha
| |
The new Bad Omens single just sounds like the softer side of Sempiternal leading into TTS.
| |
this is so weird haha keep this dude away from jared leto
| |
worst song ever
| |
@Feather That's really amusing hahaha.
The 10 year anniversary tour seems like a pretty good idea, but I'm not sure how the guys sound live nowadays.
| |
That was just...bland. This was the safest thing they've ever released and it shows. There Is A Hell... and Sempiternal were amazing and since it's been a hard sell getting into it. Still check out the album when it drops but dang is that a bad start to this album cycle.
| |
Oh they couldn't pull it off without drastically changing the actual albums sound. They would never do it, but man, I would buy a ticket so quick.
| |
Song is still good.
| |
@Feather True. I remember digging some tracks from that album; Chelsea, Football Season and the title track, thought they were catchy and fun.
Really strange band...
| |
The Sadness will Never End, Chelsea Smile ... idk I always hated the album growing up and never gave it a chance for some reason until this year. It became a go to snowboarding record for me, so much fun.
| |
Couldn't make it more than a minute before I had to turn this shit off.
| |
Good song
| |
Honestly the riff on Mantra is fine. The rest of the song just happens to be pretty lame
| |
Don't lie to yourselves guys, this is SOTY-worthy!!!111
| |
"Honestly the riff on Mantra is fine. The rest of the song just happens to be pretty lame" [2]
Oh, and the music video is out.
| |
SOTY? Don't think so, beware of the new Disturbed song m/
| |
Hah, all the new Disturbed stuff - ever since their return - is hilariously bad...
| |
No U.
Itz not bäd, itz the best staff off the year, brö
| |
Yikes... I didn't think it would be THIS bad.
| |
I saw BMTH and Underoath live like.. idk 2 years ago at this point? Oli was on point. Sounded fucking great.
As much as I fucking hate this new direction they are taking and how disappointing this song is.. I can't deny stuff they still do great, and Oli's vocals are one of them. I mean he's really kind of the main selling point of this band at this point. He sounds great even on this shit song.
| |
I agree @DreamAgain! I saw them on that tour as well and they sounded fantastic! Hopefully he wasn't using backing tracks...
| |
Main riff is pretty good yeah. Music vid is cringe though.
| |
This is not that bad tbh. The music video is cringe but it's objectively really well done.
| |
This is objectively garbage and I even like TTS.
| |
This objectivity bs again
| |
I gotta come clean and admit that I dig this way more than I should. Regardless, jamming There is a Hell currently in reverence.
| |
I don't think the single is that bad. I think it's overproduced and status-quo, however, I think Oli keeps the same sarcasm and creative lyrics I enjoyed from the beginning. It's not my favorite and I wouldn't find myself listening to 'Mantra' often, but I think it's fine for what it is. I see why people dislike it and I'm okay with that. I wouldn't call it garbage considering what was released this year. My only problem is that -- given the quality of "That's the Spirit -- it stood out in 2015. 'Mantra' doesn't have the same appeal or x-factor compared to their previous release.
| |
I’m honestly amazed by how little hate this band gets on sputnikmusic nowadays, I guess times have changed. In my books they’re one of the worst bands ever. Just as bad as Emmure and Attila, but with an even more annoying sound production.
| |
yo this song is dope as hell
| |
BMTH have their fair share of haters on Sputnik. I wouldn't dare think of them on the lines of Emmure or Attila. BMTH have a creative direction and actual writing ability to back them. Emmure and Attila only exist to abuse the bass strings of a guitar.
| |
I really like There is a Hell, Sempiternal and Spirit, but this is just embarrassing shit.
| |
Not really tho.
| |
honestly have no idea how anyone who likes thats the spirit wouldn't like this
| |
Correct.
| |
"honestly have no idea how anyone who likes thats the spirit wouldn't like this "
This sounds like a very bad B-Side from spirit and is a total mess in terms of songwriting. Also obviously even more radiorock friendly than everything from Spirit.
| |
I agree with the lyrics being messy. The chorus is noticeably sloppy. It's an odd transition from the verses. Calling it radio rock is redundant, especially when compared to Spirit.
| |
"This sounds like a very bad B-Side from spirit and is a total mess in terms of songwriting. Also obviously even more radiorock friendly than everything from Spirit."
this is too intentionally poppy to be a b-side this song doesn't really feel lazy as much as it does just not good
| |
I actually agree that BMTH have way more life in their sound than Emmure, Attila or any of all those awful bands. But to me, their music and their lyrics are equally contrived, this is why I’ve never been able to enjoy them. Maybe Sempiternal has 3 or 4 songs that I can listen to without getting annoyed. But then, there are songs like Shadow Moses, Antivist and Go to Hell for Heaven’s Sake that have all the elements that make me really dislike this band. Their last album and this new single sound like lifeless garbage to me. But that’s only my opinion, I really don’t mean to hate on any band. At least I’ve given their whole discography a try.
| |
resident pop nerd emeritus checking in this song is good as hell
| |
brostep...there's a name I haven't heard in a long time
| |
Antivist is garbage, but how dare you badmouth Shadow Moses. That's in the bands top 5.
| |
I'm just going to put this here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycpT2Szo0RY
He hits exactly zero notes accurately, uses a backing track, and has Jordan carry the live vocals. Truly a fantastic frontman.
| |
I wonder how Jordan feels being the actual vocalist but getting no credit
| |
Sorry, but I can’t stand Shadow Moses. It’s way too plastic for me to enjoy. Maybe it isn’t a bad song, but it just doesn’t appeal to me. Antivist is WAY worse though.
| |
I didn't think it was too bad of a performance but that..errr...squeal at the end of the first chorus was hilarious
| |
I don't agree with the Attila and Emmure comparison. I can't stand listening to anything by those two, but Suicide Season and There Is a hell... have stayed with me through all these years and I still enjoy them a lot. Sure, they are not technical marvels that propel the genre to new heights, but this is not a requirement for me to enjoy music.
| |
I agree they have totally different sounds, they just strike as being equally shallow and have a similar target audience. But that’s just my opinion. And I also agree that music doesn’t need to be technically marvelous to be enjoyable, but their sound production has always been a big turnoff for me. I have a hard time enjoying albums with glossy and plastic production values. I am not a big fan of pop music, so I don’t like to have pop sprinkled on my heavy music. But once again, it’s just my opinion.
| |
Well... I'm certainly no connoisseur. I do seem to dislike most very popular bands though (I don't mean that popular equals bad, but I think that a ridiculous number of people like easily digestible, shallow music). Also, I totally understand you not liking pop sprinkled on your heavy music. I'm lucky in this regards as I like the mix of different genres.
| |
finally listening b/c spotify's release radar playlist and yeah it's not good but it's not like ear-splittingly bad
| |
they've done worse
| |
Agree, wish they would go back to their old stuff
| |
I hated this song but I’d still take this over CYB lol
| |
