New Smashing Pumpkins music

2018-06-11 by RoderickINM | 28 Comments
American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins have released a brand new single entitled "Solara," which is the first song in over 18 years to feature founding members James Iha (guitarist) and Jimmy Chamberlain (drummer). It's still unknown if this song will be part of a new album or not, but in early 2018 frontman Billy Corgan stated that two EPs are planned to be released this year.

It's very okay. I'm glad Jimmy Chamberlain's back, though.

I've heard all of their albums, but haven't liked anything they made after Adore... I'm skeptical, but here goes nothing

Wow this is trying so hard to sound like Mellon Collie.

It's not bad, but I have a weird feeling that it should have harder vocals and that he's holding back...

don't know what you're talking about. I always love hearing a vocalist who sounds like Cartman when he goes But Maaaaaaaaaaaam!

Nothing exciting about this song. Mediocre, in one ear and out the other.

Am I the only one who gets a ''Just What I Needed'' by the Cars vibe when listening to this song? The riff and beat and overall rhythm of the verses remind me of that song, a lot.

I really like it too, it's not a classic obvs but it's kinda like if Zeitgeist was better and had less obnoxious vocal overdubs

I feel like loudness wars got this one pretty bad, it sounds like it was mixed well but mastered carelessly. Either way, I just wish Billy would drop those fucking vowels like he used to man, he just sounds a little constipated. Chamberlain shreds. Wouldn't know the difference if Iha was there or not. Better than Sweet Sweet.

At least to me...this tune pretty much SUCKS. Nothing new, as Fester notoriously lost it ages ago and hasn't written something relevant since the times my beard started to grow. And that was a long time ago.
