I'd personally go with Satellite Years but the EP is awesome as well. If you plan on listening to a few of their records do the EP first (it's really short) then Satellite Years, if just one record then Satellite Years.

Astral Hopesfall seems to be like the antithesis of stuff you normally like, what draws you to this band and do you like any other metalcore bands?

Astral Abortis
April 12th 2018
6505 Comments

I'm a big metalcore fan (7A7P, Shai Hulud, Misery Signals, Deadguy, Earthmover, Integrity, Rorschach, Botch, Strongarm, Converge, etc., etc.)

I love Hopesfall in particular because they nail everything. The spacey melodies, the incredible hooks, unforgettable choruses, brilliant riffs, pacing, etc. and they don't go overboard with the junzy "metalcorish" stuff on the early releases.

That said I am an advocate for Magnetic North being their best. Some of the best vocals I've ever heard, ever.

jesterhead92

Astral Lol that’s good to know, I rarely see you comment outside of death metal threads so I had no idea. That stuff is all right up my alley too except Earthmover, Integrity and Strongarm, none of whom I’ve really checked.

I think I agree about Magnetic North, it seems to be the one I jam the most out of their stuff. Swamp Kittens is my favorite track, the chorus blows my mind every time
