Thank God, they need to just let it go already.

Slayer announce farewell tour, Tom Angelripper announces a new Sodom lineup and Kreator's Mille Petrozza declares himself a Lana del Rey fan...
2018 is becoming a weird year.
| |
They needed to pack it in tbh
| |
Good to hear. It's about time. They've run their course. [2]
Every band runs their course after a time but with their case Hanemann's death accelerated it even more.
| |
I'd say 20 years too late.
| |
Would've loved to see what they'd come up with if Gary joined in with the songwriting.
| |
No seattle date. Sweet.
"Good to hear. It's about time. They've run their course."
Whats wrong with nu-slayer? they haven't released a bad album in awhile if im not mistaken.
| |
I enjoyed Repentless but yeah it's probably about time for them.
| |
Fuckin finally
| |
Kerry looks and seems like such a dickhead
| |
You're not wrong
| |
Im not a huge Slayer fan and Reign In Blood is the latest Slayer album i ever listen to anymore, but this is still kind of a bummer. Feels like an era is coming to an end.
| |
Oh man, that sucks that they're disbanding. I guess it was inevitable at some point over the last few years though.
| |
first blackfire rejoins sodom, now this. good week for thrash
| |
But Sodom has always been second rate thrash. Unlike early Slayer.
| |
first blackfire rejoins sodom, now this. good week for thrash [2]
Looking forward to the upcoming single =)
| |
hasn't slayer been done for a few years though?
| |
yea since 2013
| |
"But Sodom has always been second rate thrash."
lol pleb
| |
sodom is the good version of slayer.
| |
I feel like Repentless, with hindsight, is just Slayer saying "we're going to do this album because we want to go out on our own terms, rather than be forced into it". But yeah, definitely the right time to call it before they really do descend into self parody.
| |
I think I went late into slayer...I just started to listen to them last year.
| |
Never too late rodrigo, never too late man. Everybody discovers different music at different stages.
That said, yeah, probably too late if you had any interest in seein' em live. I was lucky enough to catch 'em at Mayhem Fest five years back while Jeff was still alive. Craziest pit I've ever seen in my life.
| |
sodom is the good version of slayer
Hahaha
| |
Black Shepherd >>> tho.
| |
Persecution Mania beats the shit out of any Slayer album.
| |
I have the feeling this will be the first of many farewell tours.
| |
*head bangs*
| |
No more slayer prog?
| |
Persecution Mania beats the shit out of any Slayer album.
Hahahahahaha
| |
Its no laughing matter, young one.
| |
It's funny cuz it's falseeee
| |
lol at everyone saying they should have given up ages ago. dunno but maybe the reason they carried on is because its a job? im sure Kerry still has bills to pay. not like he has Metallica levels of money.
| |
Lineup looks great and I hope to score tickets soon as I can.
| |
Blob my brotha, with the nonstop touring and countless endorsements over the years I can imagine King is already filthy rich
| |
dunno bloc. saw an article last year of how much slayer made in tours. it really wasn't all that much considering the cost of touring touring. also the new album didnt sell all that great. I know he will be minted, but that just means he maybe has more expensive things to pay for
| |
I'm sure Hot Topic cuts a hefty check to them for all that merch
| |
Looks like the Big Four North American Tour is a dead dream. Probably for the best. Glad Tom and Kerry aren't gonna ride Slayer to the ground. Thrash saw a revival a few years ago, but that's over so good time to pack up.
| |
well i wouldnt worry about their financial situation after this tour. everyone will be coming out to see them for the last time.
| |
my mum named her vaccum slayer because its been around since 1981 and has FUCKING SUCKED the entire time
| |
Saw them last summer and it is incredible that these dudes can still just rip for an hour and a half straight at their age.
| |
saw them 2 years ago and they were great yeah
| |
saw them twice 5, 6 years ago, I was moshing non-stop, it was too much fun
| |
Finally
| |
"my mum named her vaccum slayer because its been around since 1981 and has FUCKING SUCKED the entire time"
classic
| |
I think you mean '92, Jom ;)
Sad to see them go, I don't care much for their new material, but their shows were always insanely fun to go to
| |
No Seattle date.
Well, fuck you too then...
| |
25 years too late on that retirement, boys.
| |
Idk man anyone who's been to one of their concerts in the past 25 years understands why they're only doing it now, and even then I'd be pretty happy to see them just tour at this point
| |
The problem being they've been putting out albums during those 25 years too.
| |
I saw them twice, both great shows, but yeah, better choose to call it quits than to be forced due to health problems or whatever.
| |
Slayer are just a watered down Possessed.
| |
^ now that's just dumb
| |
Grew up listening to the amazing triplet "Reign in Blood", "South of Heaven" and "Seasons in the Abyss". But honestly, it's time to pack up and leave. And sincerely, in terms of inspiration, they should already have split-up some 10 or 15 years ago...
| |
I thought they were almost done with their next album set for later this year?
| |
Maybe that'll be their final album to coincide with the tour, or Tom wasn't into it and Kerry's taking it to release under a new name.
| |
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to release another album, the reception to repentless was bad, REALLY BAD
| |
