Best wishes to him. I wasn't a huge fan of the band, with the exception of The Flood, which wasn't too bad. Carlile is a great guy though, and I hope that he will continue persevering. It sounds horrible what he has to go through, but he has great strength.

He'll never get better, the condition he has is awful, it means he spends a lot of his life in agony and could die any day. So leaving the band is definitely for the best. However I really don't see the band surviving without him.

A 2.8 is a record that is severely flawed but still enjoyable, a 1.8 makes it sound like it's absolutely unbearable. It's more of a "meh this is fine," than a burning dumpster fire.

Well personally if i see that a record has 2.8 i'll probably not bother hearing it (unless i'm a huge fan of the band/artist).

Aaron Pauley was way better in Jamie's Elsewhere than he's ever been in OM&M, maybe if he becomes sole frontman it could be a good thing. That being said it sucks to hear about Austin, his condition sounds awful and I hope he can improve.

I love Dayshell, both albums are fantastic imo.

I mean I didn't dig their music but they have an army of scene girls that have kept them quite successful. Marfan Syndrome is no joke though. Even if I don't dig his music I do hope he gets treatment that prolongs his length/quality of life.

the man has obviously changed. He's not like that anymore. Haven't been an active fan of this band for maybe a year. Their first two albums are awesome, and RF was pretty good. Cold World is ass. I figure that they'll fizzle out soon enough without Austin, and make way for bands like Beartooth and Wage War. Maybe Aaron can do some screaming though, who knows? Maybe they'll try and go heavier now that they have a screamer who can actually scream still.

It sucks a lot for the band though, they've put so much of a stake in making Carlile the face of OM&M. He pretty much IS OM&M to a majority of the fans at this point. Their popularity will tank, and that's unfortunate because I think Aaron is a really talented dude and could probably make for a good front man.

Also, how much of a chance is there that Shayley comes back now? Tbh, I think bringing him back might be the only thing that could help them recover from this.

But it's hard to ignore the fact that Dayshell has gone through some serious struggles lately, even to the point where they barely got to release their last record from what I understand. They were kicked off of their older label and put into one that has done nothing to market them. Their popularity plummeted after they went defunct for a year and a half. They lost their drummer. They kinda had to start over with a lot.

All I'm saying is that this is a big opportunity for Shayley to be relevant in the scene again, and for OM&M to save themselves from major fan backlash by bringing back a beloved original member. It wouldn't surprise me if it ended up happening.

I have Marfans Syndrome, and I'm shocked it took him this long to leave. There's a lot of pain involved with he condition we have, and I couldn't imagine doing what he does. That being sad, it's really hard to be sympathetic, considering the rape rumors (and even if you don't believe those, consider that Landon Tewers has written shit about him that doesn't exactly paint him in a good light).
