Metal, that's likely because you listened to it recently and not when it first came out. Probably sounds a little dated. At the time, there was nothing quite like it.

I figured that was the problem. It's a pretty easy and short listen though so I'm sure to revisit, see if it clicks next time.

I'd start paying attention to newer works if it doesn't resonate with you. At least that way, you can see the fantastic musical progression they made over their career.
