1... 2... 3... GO!
|
| |
its essentially impossible to come up with an entirely unique flow today. even Eminem would tell you
this guy is lyrically dope
|
| |
I actually like the way he goes about this track. He isn't really preaching this time, rather just telling us what been going through his mind recently with religion. And maybe he finally realized the hooks he had been doing are terrible, so he just didn't even bother with one this time. I can dig this track
|
| |
there are seven of these things?? what lol
|
| |
the hooks I don't really like, but they kinda give him more personality in a way, its refreshing to
hear rappers at least give a try at singing their own hooks and putting some emotion in it, instead of
just hiring a singer
Like on Eminem's Hailey's Song, the singing is terrible astehtically, but somehow it works and gives
him more emotion, same kinda thing with Hopsin's hooks I think
|
| |
actually kinda liked this
|
| |
Well, this is probably the best of the series. And I agree that not having a hook helps. I don't get why some rappers even bother with hooks.
|
| |
in other words, his hooks show hes dedicated to his own personality and his own sound, it gives his verses more soul than someone like Kendrick Lamar who hires Lady Gaga to sing
|
| |
I see what you're saying, but the thing is if his hook is god-awful, eventhough what he is saying
isn't, its still a bad hook. Doesn't matter what he says, music is about carrying some sort of melody
or being aesthetically pleasing to a degree. If his hooks are done terribly because he didn't bother
putting any effort into making it something better, then what is the difference between music and
having a casual conversation.
|
| |
Also, I feel like this is definitely going to be his most appealing drop in the series to our dear sput-base here.
|
| |
When I listen to hooks like his, and even Eminem's hooks most of the time, I don't hear anything that gives it emotional
potency. I hear a hook that's there because they rationalized that a song is supposed to have a hook.
|
| |
idk what else he could talk about now that he's covered religion
|
| |
This was actually cool.
|
| |
I think i've just gotten used to putting up with bad hooks in modern hip hop
I mean, I like The Game lol
rhythm and rhymes are what separates casual convo from rap music. Some people find that to be tacky or not musically impressive or whatever, I think its cool that rap is basically just a speech that rhymes to a rhythm, i feel like you can express your thoughts more blatantly this way. Not that you can't express thoughts through music, but as KRS said "one of my 16 bar lines is eight of your chorus'"
|
| |
@Deathschool I agree with that. I still find hooks like that better than ones sang but pop stars though. I just hate when a hook sounds contradictory to the verses more than anything.
|
| |
wow, almost fell asleep halfway through and had to shut off the video howw booooooring

Ill Mind of Hopsin 5 >
|
| |
best one thus far
|
| |
Holy fuck, I thought this was gonna be mediocre. This is actually really good.

This was actually awesome. didn't expect anything after ill mind 6.
|
| |
usually don't like this guy but that was decent
|

|

How sad that he fell off the whole God thing...
|
| |
I'M HAVING FUUNNNN
|
| |
probably ghostwritten by a high school freshman
|
| |
Not as bad as the other Ill Mind releases.
|
| |
You know what Deviant...
Thank you.
|
| |
@Ibringyoufire yeah thats kinda the vibe i get here, I don't really dig this, his other stuff is really good though
|
| |
Hopsin is a pretty original rapper considering his competition. Most of the Ill Mind songs are pretty fucking good and raise a lot of good points.
|
| |
the lyrics sound like something a fifteen year old pseudo-intellectual would write trying to be profound.
|
| |
also the parts where he shifts into yelling feel forced as fuck.
|
| |
yeah i agree direnrefused, on both points
weird because people on this site like this but don't like his new album, for me its the opposite
|
| |
I think I'm pretty much to the point where I dismiss someone's argument if they use the word "pseudo-intellectual".
|
| |
those yelling portions of the song are the best.
that "having fun" line is pretty cringe worthy though
|
| |
ill mind 5 is way better than this
|
| |
@lambs it was good but this nicki minja sounding lines killed the replay value for me.
|
| |
this guy is a fucking loser. he made a song about being fucking "friendzoned" lmao
|
| |
everything this guy does is cringe-worthy tbh
|
| |
so much old school Em in his approach and delivery
great
|
| |
I didn't notice his contact eye color things

"This nigga is white as fuck"
comments like this are so closet racist. Why is that? Because he doesn't correlate to your standards of how a black person should act? Or rather what the general consensus of how a white or black person acts? Shit is so dumb.
|
| |

ugh, youre one of those people.
|

This was great
|
| |
ill mind 5 o/
|
| |
wow just seen this article after i posted the link to this lol. song is dope af
|
| |
Subject matter is downright cringe inducing, the comments on the video too are just ridiculous
|
| |
yup lay down that truth MrMatt
|
| |
this guy is real, virtually anyone who has ever been with a girl has also been rejected, the fact that he makes music about real life is just something people living in a fantasy cant take who are on the internet trying to front like their shit smells like roses
and yeah I agree with Guzzo, people that bring up race or racial stereotypes are the ones who have to try to belong to a bigger group to make up for their lack of identity. calling someone white as an insult is racist as fuck, and racists are basically below scum
|
| |
that being said, this video is stupid and the subject matter does sound like someone trying to be profound that is really just repeating the same shit teenagers have been saying about the Bible who have never even read it.
|
| |
truths
|
| |
I like this more than any other Ill Mind, besides maybe 4. At least this one feels heart felt and not so preachy, even if it is pretty damn corny at times.
Let's just be glad it isn't Ill Mind 6 ugh
|
| |
but yeah this guy isn't that good all in all.
|
| |
Ill Mind of Hopsin 5 > [2]
was expecting this to suck after the 6th one but i enjoyed this.
|
| |
It's actually not so great
|
| |
He is always crying about something
|
| |
music is about carrying some sort of melody
or being aesthetically pleasing to a degree

he knows what hes talking about
|
| |
who says rap is music as much as poetry though?
|
| |
I think this is a good jam. I do enjoy a few hopsin songs but some of them are pure cheese
|
| |
he takes it way back, all you do is front
|
| |
why is hopsin still active
|
| |
Because there are people that actively listen to his music.
|
| |
honestly better than any new rapper I know of or have found on this site
|
| |
it grosses me out that this guy has any fans, damn
