Foxy Shazam Stream New Album

2014-04-02 by VicariousIntent | 50 Comments
In a surprising move, eccentric Ohio rockers Foxy Shazam have announced the release of their fifth studio
album, "Gonzo", and already made it available for free on bandcamp. The band will be touring in support of
the record starting May 27th with Larry And His Flask.

"Gonzo" is the first release from Foxy Shazam since their 2012 album, "The Church Of Rock And Roll".

"Gonzo" can be streamed and downloaded for free at the link below:

Okay. This is pretty goddamn underwhelming so far. I appreciate that they are trying to change their sound and I even kinda
dig the feel they were going for, but I don't think I'm feeling the execution. Foxy as a band has been a hard grower for me
anyway though. Maybe this'll get there. I don't know.

Yeah. Even if this grows, I'm fairly certain this is their weakest by quite a margin.

First song is pretty boring. I always liked them for their energy, and that song doesn't have any.

Solid. Very solid. Not instantly 'catchy' and probably won't appeal to MENTAL MIDGETS but you can always go and satisfy yourselves with some Miley Cyrus. No qualms with this release and can't wait to see them on tour, expecting a great show as always.

No prior experience with this band but I didn't care to listen past the fourth track here. Not bad music per se, but just sort of uninteresting. Mellow, not much energy, not particularly engaging or catchy. Nothing crazy or "eccentric," either.

Introducing was their worst outside of this. It has highlights but it's a pretty awkward transition album.

If I heard these songs at a local bands contest, I would see some future potential but as it is this album is painfully unspectacular, there's simply nothing standing out there, quite dissappointing since their other album had some fun jams...

I really consider this their only bland album. I think Church is pretty underrated. There are a few missteps on it to be sure, but it also has some of their best work.

I don't hate Introducing. I just think Foxy has far better things to offer. It's a solid album on its own.
