Well that's one way to release an album
| |
......
| |
Well I guess I won't be hearing the new album
| |
Do you think?
| |
cant wait for it to leak
| |
i have trouble believing that this has anything to do with art and nothing to do with making as much money as possible. you're really going shaft fans like that? $30 to $50 to listen to an album once?
| |
also lol at "multi-million"
| |
There's a sign of evil genius (haha) written all over this
welp if it's anytihng like the single they released good on them but fuck it I ain't interested
| |
will be hilarious if the album is awful
| |
this is the holy grail in 21st century pretentiousness
| |
will be hilarious if the album is awful [2]
| |
that is the worst idea ive ever heard in my life tom
| |
this is some next-level Jonny Craig douchebaggery
| |
interesting distribution technique, but $30 to listen to an album ONCE, these guys have got to be kidding. plus no Raewkon and barely and Ghostface will be on this so not worth it
| |
Apparently this is gonna be a separate thing from "A Better Tomorrow", which is still gonna be released normally
| |
the $30 listening sessions seems dumb, make it $5 or something. Other than that, I think it's a cool idea
| |
what an elaborately stupid way to release music
| |
I've got a king's scepter, and you can put it in your mouth for free
| |
This stunt has nothing to do with music or the release of music because it is simply impossible to really appreciate an album this long after ONE $30-50 listen (and if you pay to hear it more than once, or even the one time, then you're pretty goddamn sad). In the case of it leaking, it instantly becomes just another (probably shitty) 128-minute album.
| |
Double albums in hip-hop are rarely good
| |
Thank god you guys realize how fucking stupid this is. People on my facebook feed are posting about how cool this is and I am just facepalming so hard
| |
I mean it's a ridiculous idea but it's clearly genius at the same time because they'll make a shit ton of money out of this even if the album turns out to be pretty bad (And it almost certainly will which makes this all the smarter in an evil genius sort of way like I already mentioned)
| |
I am glad they found a way to better scam people out of money
| |
Unless this is an album that tops Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) who cares...
| |
This is both a really neat, and a really fuckng stupid idea
and I'll bet money that the album is actually really mediocre at best
| |
lol forbes wtf
| |
This is the douchiest idea I've ever heard.
I don't think Wu-Tang understands what art is.
| |
"[t]his is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king.”
lol.
this is really stupid but kind of a cool concept at the same time.
| |
i wonder how many bands will try the same thing if this ends up being successful
| |
It won't be
| |
I actually think it will be successful. There's got to be someone out there dumb enough to pay a fortune for this album.
| |
thought this was completely ridiculous until I read this is something separate to the album they have coming out to coincide with the 20 year anniversary of 36 Chambers. which i assume will be released normally.
so as a separate project, there are elements of the idea that are pretty cool.
| |
What's the point if no one is going to listen to it?
| |
I saw this originally listed as an Onion news article thinking it was a joke. I guess the joke is on us.
| |
"This box will go on a "tour" that may include museums, art galleries"
| |
Regardless of the fact that I really do like Wu-Tang, I hope this idea doesn't live up to their expectations. The price of $30-$50 to listen to an album once is just asking too much and is almost a slap in the face to fans, in my opinion.
| |
Dxxxa D alredy did this in 2011.
| |
This is the best joke I have heard all month. And we are very near the end of this month.
| |
I've got a king's scepter, and you can put it in your mouth for free [2]
| |
this is actually an extremely smart thing to do...
anybody who hears the album paid a large sum for it, thus they will force themselves into believing it's great to justify paying for one listen
unless this leaks it will go down as the best album in history
| |
No it won't. Are you stupid? How can people who've never heard something consider it to be "the best album in history?"
| |
This is so awful.
| |
is this for real
| |
I find this interesting yet extremely stupid in its own right. Its gonna leak one way or another
| |
This is pretty hilarious. Wouldn't expect it from anybody else.
| |
"I actually think it will be successful. There's got to be someone out there dumb enough to pay a fortune for this album."
Enough people paid for a 100+ dollar Kanye designed entirely white T
If people payed money for that, they'll pay money for this
| |
The funny thing is that the majority of those who will pay for that will never understand that it sucked (if it does suck).
| |
"The price of $30-$50 to listen to an album once is just asking too much and is almost a slap in the face to fans, in my opinion."
When I read the article, it sounded more like they were saying that would be the most likely price the "venues" would charge, I didn't get the impression that the band had much choice in it. Could be wrong though.
| |
they had much choice in the inception of this stupid idea in the first place
| |
That's very true.
| |
cant wait for it to leak [2]
| |
I think this is a joke
| |
plus no Raewkon and barely and Ghostface will be on this so not worth it
there's no Raekwon and barely any Ghostface on their upcoming "A Better Tomorrow" or whatever it's called 20th anniversary album (odd because the 20th anniversary of 36 chambers was last November), but this is an entirely separate project, recorded over like 5 years or something.
but from my understanding RZA didn't even produce it so basically it's just an album featuring Wu-Tang rappers, not an actual Wu-Tang album.
| |
I saw this was bumped and REALLY hoped the comment would be "lol this got leaked and it sucks"
| |
Doesn't need to leak to know that it sucks
| |
the new czarface album comes out next week - it will be better than this
| |
oh and 12 reasons to die part 2 comes out this month too but i'm not really looking forward to yet another gfk album this year
| |
