A Linkin Park Surprise

2014-03-06 by NordicMindset | 145 Comments
Just days after announcing their upcoming tour with Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI, Linkin
Park have released 'Guilty All The Same', the lead single off of their, as of now untitled,
sixth studio album in surprise fashion. The song also features legendary rapper Rakim.

To listen to the six minute track, one must Shazam a Linkin Park song where they will see an
option to listen to the song.

Mike Shinoda has stated, "It’s louder; it’s more visceral than probably anything we’ve
done recently. And we’re all really proud of it... The reason we went with this single first
is that we think it’s a good look into the DNA of the record that we’re putting out this
summer".

According to Shinoda, the album's energy was rooted in their love for classic punk rock
artists: "Those bands weren’t afraid to try something different. There’s an energy, an
aggression and a meaning, like this attitude that I’ve got something to say and I need to
get this out
".

I think it is alright. It is definetely the most interesting thing they've done in years and it raises my hopes that they might release a decent album.

However parts of it sound like an amateur band trying to imitate the classic linkin park sound but slightly modifying it by adding some rather boring and flawed parts...
